You rip off the bottom portion, then you look at the bottom of the back portion and unscrew two bolts.

The back seat in a 99 corolla ve, how do you take it off? I want to put in a trunk light and I can't get the seat out so I can take off the part where the rear speakers are? And when I get the seat off I would like to know how to get the Rear deck off. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thank you.

You have to remove the lower seat cushion, I tried it on my 00 and I could not get it out !! The method USED to be push down on the front edge about 4" back at seating area and push back on front edge at the same time to release 2 latches and then it would lift up and out that will reveal bolts for back.

Have you looked to see if the wiring is in place for the lamp and the switch you may be able to just add the switch and the holder for the bulb ?? Should be a simple job though.

basically pull out the lower portion of the seats, then the top piece comes out with a couple bolts..

-0- &lt;--- This is the best explanation that I can provide, The 0 is the pin on the seat and the dashes are the clips on the body ( both X2), You push down and back to release pin from clip and lift cushion up.

Are the clips in the trunk behind the seat?
