Engine will this engine work in a 98 corolla

    On the 4AGE-20V - you have enough room under the hood to do it - but it is not a simple drop in engine swap. Not only to do you have to get revised mounts - may have to do some cutting and relocating of cooling components, axles, etc. Not going to be cheap. Depending on where you live - you might not be able to pass smog either - they usually allow swapping of newer engines but not older ones for emission testing. Tranny swap is probably guaranteed due to engine location/mounting flange.

    Your existing 1ZZ-FE engine is smaller and lighter than the 4A-GE and flipped around (4AGE intake in rear, exhaust in front).

    But it has been done before - just bring bags of cash.

    For the 1ZZ-FE engine on the MR2 spyder - that will fit - but I don't believe that it is a 20V engine. All the newer MR2s had the 16 valve variant with the VVT-i like the 2000+ Corollas and Celica GT models.
