Engine Installing turbo

    Installing turbo

    Ok so i dont have the tools or time to do it but XAT racing quoted me 1400 bucks to do it. My question, is that too much? seems like alot of hours for installtion ( 60/hr) thats almost 24hr's or work

    damn i'm sorry u guys...where u 2 live? I'm gettin my turbo kit installed (w/ fuel rail, injectors, fuel pump, oil catch can, alcohol injection, etc)...w/ greddy emanage install and greddy profec e-01 install all for $400

    then having a new tranny (w/ synthetic fluids) put in and a high stall TC installed w/ that as well for $300

    so $700 installation for all of it total

    haha...they better!...they're just gonna tell you where all of the stuff are SUPPOSED to be and then charge u for actually INSTALLING it in...

    these guys do awesome work...they r givin me a break on everything cuz they love my car and want to see it turbo and i've kicked it w/ them and had long convos about different engine swaps and some crazy cars that have come in there shop...everything will be all good...they r just hookin' me up

    shit i just might do that...was actually waitin 4 my bro to finish his term in the air force and we thought bout opening up shop...he's comin back from england in december...he's already been in process of buildin up a 67 mustang from scratch...planted a 351 cleveland in it and has it runnin...when he gets back we r twin turboing it

    i live in tampa florida, yeah i mean some1 with tools and skills, in a pro shop from what i have seen, doesnt take 3 days just for a small turbo system.

    the cleveland is a good motor - i was always a bigger fan of the windsor though... *shrug* both good motors... lol

    actually that depends on the parts and fitment. <br />

    It took us 3-4 days to build an entire turbo system from scratch for my car - however that was doing a lot of the fab work on the fly. And that was also with 3-4 people working on it.<br />
    <br />
    I'd say a day for pulling your exhaust system, mounting the turbo manifold, turbo, wastegate, oil lines and fixing your exhaust system back up to match your downpipe.<br />
    <br />
    Then another day for getting your intercooler piping all correct. (if its not a prefabbed kit) <br />
    <br />
    Then allow that third day for possible problems and testing if the IC piping took too much time the second day. <br />
    <br />

    It's VERY possible for it to take 3 days. If they said a week, yeah I'd be a little suspicious, but 3 days is allowing them time to breath. Don't expect too much more than that unless you have an entire crew working on your ride.
