Thats about what I'm getting in my XRS, low 30's. Not in the city though when I'm driving around on the freeway in 4th gear doing 75mph though lol.

Yeah, I am getting around 27 mpg in mixed driving and I have not broken in yet so it will get better. The official mpg is around 30 mpg.

i doubt "better value" when you take into account you should put in premium

I don't know where you guys get your information. I got my 04' corolla S in late nov of 2003.....it is fully broken in with around 11,000 miles on it and I get almost 24-25 mpg in the city.....on the highway I get around 32 though. My car is completely stock too

thats it?!? i got 23 mpg on my xrs in city drivin and i got around 32 on the hwy ... 's' get about 5 more mpg. but thats because of the horsepower and torque.
S-CE-LE 130 hp ---- 32/39 mpg
XRS 170 hp ---- 26/31 mpg <----BETTER VALUE.

bUT i KNOW xRS gets about the same if not better mileage than a 115-130hp FOCUS or CAVALIER or INTEGRA. and definately better than their 'performace' vehicles with 170-180 hp.

My '03 CE 5-spd is rated 32/40mpg. I REALLY lives up to that. The lowest I've ever gotten is 34mpg. If conservative, I can squeeze out 37mpg in city driving. Highway mileage rocks!! Most long hwy trips I have gotten 42 and once 43mpg. No mods at the time. Intake and exhaust didn't lower mileage noticeably (maybe 1mpg). Then again, I get on it more with the intake.

lol...I get about the same gas milage as an XRS....I punch it though at least 10 times through out the gas milage....maybe that is why I get such crappy gas MPG. With the gas prices going up and not coming down, I am afraid to do any mods to my car because every extra mod makes your MPG go down......tampacorolla only gets like 16 or 18 MPG because of his big bore and supercharger and other minor mods

Around here regular costs almost as much as premium anymore. Maybe someday if prices go down to their levels from four years ago....

yeah i also noticed that up here when its really cold out in the morning (35 degrees F) i get really shitty gas mileage because of my intake. without flooring it for a week i noticed ive been getting an average of 25 mpg. o shit wait until winter comes
