yeah, i would have to say alpine or pioneer...they do run a lot, but it also depends if you want the goodies that goes along with it..(touch screen, detachable, etc.)

yea they have some on ebay, but they also have those stupid auctions ( where you're not bidding on the product, you're bidding on a website where you can get THIS product for $100!!! )...they're so annoying. But I'm willing to spend the money if I feel it's good investment. I just wanted to know which brands or models people consider the best.

All your top models (Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Alpine, Etc) are awesome but will run you a pretty penny. They have some on Ebay that I've seen in others cars that are pretty decent and affordable.

Im running a JVC setup and love it... im not too into those auctions where you bid on a link to pay for something cheap. Im afraid of getting ripped off.

I was looking into the pioneer AVH-P6600DVD cuz I've only dealt with pioneer when I first got my car ( I guess you can say i'm spoiled), but like before, I was wondering if anything else was better. I was looking at the Alpine and I like how it looks cuz it has a lot of features.

I had a clarion VRX935VD in my ride. I added the tv tuner and dolby digital with center channel and it was awesome. I say I had since I returned my car to stock to sell it. Right now all my audio equipment is in boxes :( But I love that radio to death! Oh yeah, it also has a touch screen, and the potential to do pretty much anything.

I second the clarion whore post! :)

i would go in-dash if u can buy a used or new one on sale (stolen) for around 500-800. Otherwise, if your gonna spend like 2,000, just supercharge your car, you'lll have a lot more fun doing that then watchin movies one a small screen... onlinecarstereo.com is an awesome website, they're located in L.A. by the staples center. I think they're selling a clarion DVD HU for around 800 right now, and they're reliable because I got everything on my car from them, from components to amps. One stop shop and they're the lowest prices around. hehehe, i sound like a fucking salemen.

the clarion is crazy if you have enough speakers and the sorround sound option... touch screen and all... the sound is unbelivable (if you have good speakers)

Pioneer or Alpine are the only in dash units that I would trust. All others seem to have some issues and don't sound as good or the picture quality is crap. I have a Alpine IVA-D300 as well and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Have owned others and just didn't like them much at all.
