    2ZZ-GE into a 1998 Corolla

A buddy and I have decided to do this swap. Yes I know that it's going to be difficult and long and expensive.

We have already purchased a 2003 Matrix XRS. The vehicle was totalled (rear ended) so we will have everything in the engine bay to work with.

I understand that this has only been done once, by supershyguy, and I have emailed him. Has this ever been done by anyone else ever before? Is there anyone here that can offer me some good advice on the swap?

I have searched and read every thread that has a reference to the 2ZZ swap. Most of them were filled with "it's not worth it", "it would be too expensive", "you can't do it", etc etc etc. Please, keep this thread free of negative talk. We are going to get this swap done, it's just a matter of time.

    Thanks everyone :)

this has been done more than once and supershyguy wasnt the 1st (maybe the 1st w/ a JSpec 2zz)...but yes they r rare and hard to find...but i wish u the best of luck and hope u r ready for some empty pockets...but it will be a nice upgrade besides money...just make sure u do the 6 speed manual to make it worth the time and effort @least

I dont have any technical advice, but if you are serious about it, I hope it goes relatively well and I wish you the best of luck... buy the shop manual for both your Corolla and the XRS, between the two books, there should be enough information to answer most of your questions.

Like someone said, be sure to pair it with the 6 speed.
