    is the Rav4 any good?

hey ya, i saw a rav4 today, it was nice looking, i think it was a newer model and it was silver. what are these computers like...what kind of engine.

i check them out on autobytel, they are a little expensive for a used car, 16-18k...for that price, i could buy a new tC

they are a bit under powered unless you get the newer ones with the 2.4 l engine. other wise they are great cars. highly rated by consumer reports

crv is better than the rav4 coz of the real-time 4wd. rav4 have fulltime 4wd.
crv (in our area) is more bang for the buck compared to rav4.

I had an 01 rav4 before I got my 03 rolla S. I loved the rav4. The only issue I had with it was the gas milage and since I drove like an hour and a half to school monday to friday it was more practical to get the rolla. but other than that the rav was sooo much fun in snow and off road. I would highly recommend getting it if you got the $$$. but don't get the old models their ugly.

My friend has a 1997 Rav4 4WD, LSD, power everything and a sun roof. 2L engine and from a 30mph roll he beat my car (95 1.8L corolla auto his is a stick) by a car length the whole way up until stupidly fast speeds. Id say it has some balls to it.

wife has a 2002 rav4 and we both love it. 145hp is plenty of pep when you have a stick (only 6% made are stick), would be great if I stuck an aftermarket intake in it.

its the same engine as the camry, so in theory, the TRD supercharge from the TC (camry engine also) should bolt right up, only thing might be if there aer differences in the ECU's between the two applications (get a TC ECU?).
