    well it depends..if you're talking about hondas..read my signature..if you're talking about any other make that's from japan, JDM is parts from japan..

    or if you wanna talk ricer language in san francisco, anything that has squiggly lines and looks like japanese, is jdm..like JDM spraypaint y0, and JDM license plate frame..and JDM tamiya car models..

    Japanese Domestic Market...

    Generally, parts made in Japan by the auto manufacturer or aftermarket part manufacturer for the Japanese market exclusively... (i.e., not readily available in US/Europe).

    For example: A 1990 CRX isn't JDM. Even though it was made in Japan, it was made for the American market. Now, if that CRX has Mugen CF-48 wheels, the wheels are JDM. The rest of the car is still not JDM. Now, if this CRX is covered with JDM parts, you could say it has JDM style, but again, it's still a US market CRX.

    haha, true.

    but JDM and being from japan are different. I thought JDM meant something that is OEM on japanese cars. i mena like i thought aftermarket parts aren't considered JDM.

    JDM parts cost like 3 times the actual price. same in japan, USDM parts cost 3 times as much. And its dumb how people buy "jdm headlights" for 03 corollas.... Japan doesn't even have the same model corollas as we do. derr!!

    what cracks me up is that most items we gush over here because they're JDM are in actuality RICE.

    just because it's made in japan FOR japan, doesnt' make it good.. i've seen just as many cheezy modifications in japan as here.

    JDM = The Tightness.

    Altezzas and anything not JDM = Old and Busted.
