    Headers For 03 Corolla S

Has anyone or did anyone buy the 4-1 headers for an 03 Corolla on ebay? If so, were they a good fit? I bought some but have not had the opportunity to have them installed. Also, not only do I not know how to do it but I don't have the tools to do it either. I went to a racing store near my house but the guy wanted to charge me $160 bucks to install them and I thought he was out of his mind!!! Well, if someone can give me some advice about the cost to install them and if I should even do it I'd appreciate it. Thanx!!!

to be honest $160 doesn't sound that bad for installation. How much did you think it would cost?

The other thing i learned is price comparison. I see you're in LA. There are tons of rice shops in LA and the OC. The more they specialize in something the cheaper it'll be. A lot of times if you just mention that this particular place (get actual price ) said they'd do it for this, the person does not want to lose your business so they'll lower their prices to keep you as a customer figuring you'll be back for more mods. It's how i got my rim/wheel package $250 cheaper than everyone else in the area. Just some help if you don't do the DIY route. GOOD LUCK!!

I really am not sure. When I took my headers to the shop the mechanic told me that they are not carb legal. I thought they were because it has a connection for the sensor. He also asked me what brand they were and I told him that I just bought them off of ebay. He said if he wanted for me to have them installed I would have to take the car to him without license plates and would have them installed as "off road use only". Whatever that means. I saw the headers on the ELPROTOTYPES website and they look exactly the same as the headers I bought off of ebay.

well that answers that question. since we live in Ca, all performance parts that go on any smogable car needs to have a CARB number, if it doesnt then its not street legal.

most headers replace a precat located on the exhaust manifold, like the headers from my mirage. but this car bolts onto to a cat from the manifold, another thigns is the cars exhaust manifold is in the back, so it would be almost impossible for a smog technician to check to see if it is a stock one or not.
