    Disabling seat belt beeps?

hey guys im new to the forums..really amazed by how everyone gets helped, so i decided to register myself ;] and also if im posting in the wrong section i apologize in advance, im assuming that this is where it goes

well anyways, i have a '05 corolla that beeps when the seatbelts arent buckled and this annoying even though its there for safety reasons. does anybody know how to disable it? i dont mind if the light blinks, its just that beeping.

my car also has this mechanism where it can detect if someones sitting in the passenger seat, which makes another beep too. any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

    thanks for the replies,

would disabling the system stop it from detecting if anyone is sitting in the passenger seat? i dont want to stop functionality, just to stop the noise. and would the airbag still deploy? just curious, but i guess i'll leave it to beep.. but while we are still on the topic, is there a way to stop the beeping for the driver side door open? ;[

Hey guys. since this thread is about beeps. I thought I should stick it in here rather than making a new thread.

I have a 99 and I was wondering how I can disable the damn beeping when I have the car door open. Because when I'm working on my car and I have the door open I hate the beeping. So if anyone could tell me how to do that I would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

I just put my keys in the ignition and turn it to ON and the dinging thing stops making noise when the door is open

that would eventually drain out the battery wouldnt it? maybe theres a way since the sensor for the door beeping is a button where the door locks, maybe getting something to hold it down

I've never drained the battery like that...I do have a yellow top though :D I guess you can use a clamp to hold down the button in the door jamb to keep it from beeping or just take the keys out the ignition entirely.

Leaving the key to ON without the engine running is also a good way to burn up ignition components... Anyway, on the '05, the sensors are interconnected, so when disabling the chime, you run the risk of disabling the passenger airbag. If it's the same system as in the '02+ Camry, the passenger airbag will not deploy if there's no one in the passenger seat... messing with the sensors is risky business unless you have a wiring diagram.
