    93-97 heater could harm ya...

I was wondering if anyone else has been having this problem...While im driving home or something, i usually turn the heater on cuz im the kinda person who always needs to be kept warm....newayz, ive noticed that every time I turn on my heater, I feel sleepy...but when I roll down the window, after about a minute or two, i dont feel sleepy anymore.

I think its probably carbon minoxide cuz all those symptoms are consistant with that of those who usually inhale carbon minoxide...I was kinda wondering if anyone else was having the same thing happen to them....

nope not me. I doubt that would be a wide spread problem though. It may just be something hooked up wrong in your car... :(

I dont know about you guys, but anytime its warm or hot somewhere, i feel sleepier than when its cool or cold... so it could just be that also... but it wouldn't surprise as our cars age if something rusted through anda llowed some good old carbon monoxide in...

Unlikely unless you have a leak in your exhaust pipe. The heater operates from coolant flowing through a heater core which is like a mini radiator installed just under the dash. But if you have any doubts you could alway pick up a carbon monxide detector.

yea probably is...there are like two holes in my headers that look like they actually belong there and if i were to rev my engine, you can feel some hot air coming out from it....i just figured those holes were suppose to be there so i didnt think anything of it so other than that, i really dont think there is a leak newhere else cuz ive checked b4..

Guys, it's like teevee said, when it's warm you get comfterable and in turn sleepy. That's why on long drives when I start to get sleepy I eighter turn on the a/c or open the window. The colder temps shock your body to stay up. You will be cold as hell, but you'll still be driving.

On a regular drive, when I use the heater wont affect me, but sometimes after a tyering day at work I'll use the heater. I'll get warm and comfterable, but I also get sleepy. and so it's time for the window rolldown. Sometimes I'll drive with the window open a little, enough for the cold wind to hit my face, and i'll have the heater on at the same time.

well for others it may be like that, but its never been this way....ive driven with the heater on all the time...even when its warm outside...im just the kinda person who needs to be warm and loves hot hot weather...so being tired as a result of heat is definately not the case....ive driven to houston from here in Tulsa (550 mi.) with the heater on for most of the way, windows rolled up...did that last summer and had no problems...as long as i have like a cold drink, im fine, thats how i could stand that heat i guess....but its not because its warm and it makes me tired....i can have the heater on and ill just have to drive two miles away from my house to fill up for gas and ill get tired and start to feel sleepy...

if you think you have holes in the exhaust you could always rev up the engine and check for extra noise unless you have a custom exhaust which would make this useless
