2 10"'inch type R's sound good, but the warranty doesn't, im a college kid, and money's kinda tight, so... im hoping with the one year warranty they'll actually last longer than one year, and i will take care of them too, i wont be running 300 watts everyday to school and back or nothing, mainly the infiniti's really caught my eye because of the 3 year warranty, but the R's just hit so FREAKIN HARD!!. i dont really know much about amps, but if i were to get 2 10"S! what kind of amp could i use to maximize my sub power?

with the alpine type R's dont quote me but i think theyre 300 rms @ 4 ohms. i could be rong. so ud need either a 1 channel that put out 600 watts @ 2 ohms. or a 2 channel that put out as close as u can to 300 rms @ 4 ohms. ud need a 4 gauge wiring kit. id prefer the alpine subs. and get hte 12"s. its just alot better for not alot more money. usualy the difference between 10s and 12s is like 20$. yes our car rattles alot. u can put carpet or somethin behind hte licence plate. secure the child seat straps. ull be ok for a while but over time thigns will shake loose then u can get dynamat.

    2 10's Or 2 12's In A 04' Type S???

I'm definately getting either the infinity's perfrects or the Alpine type R's in my car, but im not sure what kinda size sub to get. I have the stock body kit spoiler, and i was wondering if anyone would know if that would also rattle..besides the plates and trunk. what minimizes the rattling?? DYNOMAT??? also does anyone know what kind of amp, or amps I could get for maximum power from my subs, cause i dont want to buy awesome subs then go cheap on the amp. I've already got some infinity perfect components that kick ass. thanks guys and ladies

A friend of mine has 2 10" Inifinity Kappa's (rung below the perfects) and those subs sounds great, sound better than some 12", and because of the size, they can react a little faster to changes, which is good if you listen to more than just hip hop/rap (that bass ehavy music, whatever it's called)...

ive heard both the subs and in my opinion its no contest that the alpines are louder and better quality. a friend of mine has 2 10" jl w3s and my 12 rockford punch's are louder.

The Type Rs are a bit louder in both ported and sealed enclosures. If you're gonna go with two speakers in a Rolla I'd go with 10" Type Rs or 12" Perfects or a single 12" Type R. The 12s will be able to play deeper.

I have two 12 inch type r's. It really depends on how much room you want to sacrifice... both the 10's and 12's won't take up too much space if you have them in a sealed box. If you go with a ported setup, the 12's will use up more space, but will sound muuuch better.... My recommendation is two alpine 12inch type r's. In regards to the amp, I have a USAmp 400x , so basically running 200rms into each sub.... Those amps are really underrated so it's more along the lines of 250rms which is plenty of power.

Im running two 12" JL 12W3s in a JL prowedge box, it sounds amazing, the bass is clean and loud with barely no distortion, my child seat latches rattle but I still have to finish dynamatting. Im powering them with a MTX 1500DX Mono amp. I now trust only MTX amps.

In terms of the warranty, as long as you don't over/under power them too much, you should not have to worry about them. I have had mine for almost 4 years now, and they sound better then when I first bought them!!

as for what amp you should get? well I'll recommend a few, mind you the only ones I have ever used are Kicker, Alpine & USAmp, which are all good imo.. maybe someone else can recommend a few more...

    Kenwood

    Alpine

    Kicker SX500.2 or SX400.2

    USAMP 400x (my fav)

All these amps are 2 channel amps.. I just prefer the 2 channel versus the mono amps... more options down the road.

I am sorry but your rockford punch's 12" do not hit harder than the JL W3's. Either your friend has them severly underpower'd or you are lying.

have any of you guys ever heard of hookedontronics.com ???. I was wondering because their prices seem to be awesome. does anyone know if the DVD head unit has an affect as to what type of subs I can get. like say the difference between a TYPE X alpine sub and a TYPE R alpine sub? and can i get some opinions as to what component speakers are better? the alpine X's or the infinity kappa perfects 5.1????

I have 2 10" Type E Alpines which are the beginner subs from Alpine. I am on a budget and I got both of them for 98 bucks from crutchfield. Buy One Get One Free rocks lol. They are awesome subs tho I have them in a ported box. Most ppl think that 12"s are louder but they really arent. They can hit lower notes but 10"s can hit a lot faster. Also a mono amp is better then a 2 channel amp if you are just going to run 2 subs. The reason is, it puts the amp in a 2ohm mood when u cross over the 2 subs into that one channel and it doubles the power of ur amp. Its cheaper then buying a 2 channel amp with more watts to it. I have a Alpine V12 mrd300 amp and it powers my subs perfect. Just be sure to get at least a 75% power output of wut your subs are. Like if you have a 500w sub be sure to at least have a amp that has 375w. Dont go over 500w tho. The closer you get to it tho the better it will sounds
