I remember hearing somewhere it would be only for forced induction cars and not N/A ones. Is that true?

well if it were true then you might as well say only on s/c ones cuz if it was turbo'd there'd be no use for a header as the turbo manifold would be there.

and i really doubt that's the case as there are so few s/c rollas out there.

and yeah i don't see why the matrix XR one wouldn't fit. It's the same damn car.

    DC sports Header

Okay so DC sports took my car in to test fit the new CARB pending header that's going to be coming out for us 03-04 folks that have been waiting on this for a while.

I get the call today to come pick it up but there will not be a header included...

It seems the fitment is not working out so they gotta re-do some work on it and then call me back...

from the way the conversation ended it sounded like they have to redesign the whole thing but the matrix XR one is now in production? and "available" for sale on DC's website

    any thoughts on this guys?

Anyways, DC is working on our car and they haven't forgotten about us. Hopefully, this fittement issue will work itself out soon.

Just wanted to let you all know whats up with this and that hopefully there will be a CARB header for the cali folks really soon!!

technically you won't have to worry about the CARB until you get it smogged. That is even if they notice the different header. Did I ever mention at the meet that JP had the stealth header? I believe that Larry from MO.com said that even Toyota didn't notice the header. Of course outside of the group buy you are looking at $350 for the header and another $100 to make it stealth.

IF you read on MO, a member with the XR has been on the phone with DC for 2 weeks because the header does not fit the XR (they tried selling the Celica GT header for the XR).

Whats going on with the Corolla header? Why is it a 4-2-1 2 piece header (according to the DC Website)? The Celica and Matrix design appear as though they will be 4-1 1 piece header

BTW, can you ask your DC contact if they want a Supercharged Corolla to do testing for their header also? I can come down when they have the Header design sorted out and they can get numbers for the header with Boost.

well I picked up my car and i had Jehan (sorry if i butchered the name) told me what was up. Basically, it doesn't fit. It just doesn't fit correctly. They have on the website that matrix xr and xrs (when i dropped it off monday they were working on someone's xrs) and they said things seem to be fine with those....I asked him about the 4-2-1. He said technically it is a 4-2-1 but the 4-2 way it's set up is sooo small he personally considers it a 4-1 header.

now for more bad news!!! he said that due to scheduling of everything else they are doing the won't get back to the Corolla header for a couple to few MONTHS!!! He said he'll call me as soon as they can get set up again but it's not going to be for a while. Grrr...the other thing is that he said with the way C.A.R.B is set up ...it won't technically be CARB exempt any time this year.....*sigh* it's just a crappy ending to a crappy week.

Everyone at DC is cool as hell though and AEM. They definitely do pride themselves on customer service. Of course there are bumps in the road and everything and i understand that....

last note...i guess it's been a challenge for them getting soooo many cars in there. Since they used to be STRICTLY Honda's and Acura's only they had that stuff down to the T. Since the acquisition by AEM they are testing and R&D'ing soooo many cars that PERSONALLY they seemed understaffed for it. MO at least.

Geez Gggggawdddddamn DC! The header is the last thing on my list of mods. I am waiting for that header so I can tune my Unichip... Grrrrrrr! I might just have to get the EL Header and either trade or sell it when the DC comes out.
