Does Dynamat work

i have dynamat extreme all over the underside of my trunk and on the trunk deck lid...helps remarkably, my 13.5" JL W7 false floored used 2 shake my trunk so bad it would almost pop open and would shake my whole car like crazy and popped the speaker covers off my 6 1/2" on the rear deck and rattled my spoiler so much it loosened one of the screws completely be4...but the dynomat deadened the rattling alot, but that sub just hits so freakin hard I can't elminate it all... check out my cardomain site 2 see my setup and understand what i'm talkin 'bout

I want to get a new headunit and 4 speakers for my 2000 corolla and I would like to know does Dynamat work and is it worth the money

yes it works. if u sat in my car then u would know wut im talkin about....

worth the money... buy the trunk kit and its enough to do the trunk and two doors....

I was considering using Dynamat. I put a 10" sub @ 250watts in the trunk. It was pretty annoying having the panels make noise every time the bass hit. To get a trunk kit was somewhere around $100 or so... Way too much for me at the time. So I did some research on the internet. Found out that Dynamat was somewhat of a rubbery sticky stuff. Thought of using "Ice and Water Shield" made by "Grace". It's what you put on your roof on the valleys and eaves to keep ice and water out. It's very sticky. Anyway, I did some searching on Google about using that instead of Dynamat or other sound deadeners. I actually found a few people who used it successfully.. So I tryed it. I have some left over from building my house.. I used a heat gun to heat it up and stick on.

It significantly reduced buzzing and made my bass much more clear and defined. It works great for me.
If you can get some scraps from someone do it! I think its about $80 per 30" x 50' roll. I would probably get dynamat if you can't get scraps for free. Or if you go in with some friends it might be worth it...

All your really doing is adding some weight to the flimsy steel panels in your car so they don't respond so actively to sound waves.

Either way, you will want to do SOMETHING. It makes a big difference.

u can either shell out the money and get dynamat... or the generic stuff... but dynamat extreme... is the best... it doesnt smell and goes on easily.... unlike others... its hard to work with... and u need a heat gun.... and it SMELLS.... i worked with plenty... and exteme is the way to go...

i have dynamat extreme on all of my door panels and top of trunk lid and under back dash. it helped alot, sounds so much better too than without it. but it is expensive... i got lucky and got a hookup from one of my boys...
i suggest looking on ebay and buying a whole roll, comes out cheaper then buying it form an audio shop or best buy or something... their markup is like 20 to 30 dollars on it...

it definately worked in my car. the body would shake a lot, but now with it in it doesn't move that much anymore. it does a little, but it has calmed down.

downside is how heavy that stuff is...
