Umm, how bad is the bog? Is it only from a dead stop, or does it last through the entire RPM band?

How hot has it been lately in your area? My guess would just be heatsoak of your intake. It happens to my car too and will sometimes bog a bit from a dead stop.

Check your air filter...could be clogged.

Clean the MAF sensor...it can cause your car to run lean.I can give you directions to the MAFS and how to clean it if you need it.

When was the last time you ran fuel injector cleaner? Some of that might help. Also there's a thread in this forum about cleaning the PCV valve and hose, that could help you a little as well.

Clean the throttle body if your problem hasn't improved...and do it properly by disassembling the throttle body, the stick-and-spray method doesn't work too well.

Anyone else have any other ideas? If all else fails, talk to a good mechanic about this.

you can test any of those sensors using a voltmeter usually. Most are just resistors, inductors or a combo of both with diodes. check out these toyota articles might help ya testing systems

The MAF is right on top the air box, quick replacement. When my MAF was bad I had a CE light after accelerating intermittently, no change in performance, light would return after reset with battery disconnect. New MAF and no more CE.

^^ That's right, you'll see somewhere in the airbox or intake tube a little something that plugs in, with wires coming from it. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I got caught up at school a bit. To clean it, you remove it carefully (they are expensive, and break easily) and spray a lot of throttle body or carb cleaner over it, and let it dry.

If you haven't replaced it yet try cleaning it first. I think they're around 300 bucks for a replacement, and a bottle of TB cleaner is about 3 bucks. Be sure to reset the ECU by unplugging your battery for 20 minutes, so the ECU can start mapping the correct readings from the MAFS from scratch.
