    Another suspension question...04 rolla

    Yes, I know...everytime I post on here it's a suspension question lol.

Anyways, I just purchased from Adventon.com the Tein Stechs for the 04 Corolla..I believe it's a 2.4 drop, anyways, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a mechanic about it, and he told me that because it's such a big drop I'm going to need to buy a camber kit for the car...and even with that I'm going to have to be getting new tires every 8 months...he told me to ask you guys on here your experiences with such a drop because maybe with the Corolla it isn't the case.

Obviously once I drop it, I'm going to get the car aligned, but will I really have to be changing my tires every 8 months? It's not like I drive like some idiot taking 60mph turns or anything. If that's the case, I'm going to have to return the suspension and maybe go with a smaller drop..like 1.25 inches.

I didn't bother with a camber kit. I just got an alignment. I dropped on S.Techs five months ago, and have driven about 6,000 miles or so. My tires don't even look remotely bad. The tread still looks as good as the day I bought them -- okay maybe not, but you get the point.

i read somewhere you not suppose to drop a stock vehicle more than 1.75" without doing some camber modifications. unless of course the car is extremely higher then standard.

I would say go with sprint lowering springs they drop 1.75" and plus the Eibach alignment kit works with them. Idk about camber etc. unless you go with the Hotchkis stage 2 suspension package which comes with everything basicly for a safe drop. But idk. Im goin with the TRD springs only cause i want to make it onto my drive way without scraping the bottom. Plus Im havin an issue if im goin to have to replace the struts with the TRD springs or Eibach. I was told i didnt have to only cause its not as stressful since its basicly a 1.25 TRD and 1.1 Eibach drop. But if i have to i can get a deal for stock Mcpherson struts if thats spelled right basicly stock struts replacement.

I had ST shocks and struts on stock springs & camber kit and the ride height was higher so after the putting sprint springs on it's a little lower than stock but mild in height.
Cant wait till the Hotchkis kit goes on, and then tires;)
BTW My drive way is known for scraping all our cars accept the rolla, So ride hight was and is an issue with me.
    Hope this helps

I have s techs on my 01 and i never had a camber kit or anything just alignment and my tires have been looking good for over a year now ;) , I say you don't really have to bother with it.
