01-02 Corolla Front Grille Gutter Mesh how to?

Ok, I've seen some people here with the gutter guard mesh on the front of their 01-02 rolla. I know you have to cut out the stock grill. What I want to know is how exactly is everyone covering up the cut marks from the grill on the inside lip? Is the mesh going in front of it? The chrome trim piece, does that go over top of the mesh? What about the top of the mesh, do you leave the top bar of the original grille intact to attach mesh to?

It would be a big help if someone could show me some good up close pictures of theirs.

I want to tackle this project soon, going to use some goop to attach little "wire ties" to so I can remove the mesh if needed.. got that from Vamps website, awesome DIY section!

    Thanks

    been there...

Thanks, but I've been there. I want the whole front to be mesh, no grill visible.

You need to dremel out the plastic grill (leave the top on still), then drill small holes along the side to run tip ties through.

Ok, got that part. Didn't know about the holes... Is the mesh right behind that chrome trim piece that snaps onto the front? Like right up against the back of it?
Did you have to sand primer and paint after removal?
a picture is worth a thousand words...

    Thanks...

Kinda. I didn't cut anything out... I am still debating on cutting out the stock grill. I'll take my time because I don't have any extra $ in case I do something stupid! I put some mesh in the upper & lower. I should post pictures soon, just gotta find a place to host them from... It looks much better then before.
Look for the pics in "show us your ride". I'll see if I can get them up today.
