    from owners-link.com

Concerned about safety? So is Honda. That's why Owner Link provides up-to-date recall information about your vehicle. Because Owner Link recall listings are based on your Honda's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), they are specific to your vehicle.

There are no current safety recalls for your 2002 Honda Civic.

Yah thats not too bad compared to the CRV recalls they've done. My mom bought a 2003 and has brought it back 4 times. One was something about oil filters popping off and starting fires.

that recall is no big deal.

and the anti-honda bias that seems to loom large on here is really pathetic.

the euro Accord (sold here in the states as the TSX) is an amazing car for the money... and a recall isn't always a terrible thing. when a company swiftly recalls a car for a defect, and fixes it for no charge, that is much better than all the cars out there that have common problems but no recall was ever issued.

no, that was a 1MZ issue that plagued all 1MZ cars, from teh ES, to the sienna. i'm talking about the one that was just recently, that covered like 02's thru 04's.

i just did a little research, and even though it covered 02's thru 04's, it was for 128,316 camry's, so i guess it's a bit smaller, but it's still a huge recall. it was for side airbags suddenly popping out. seems a bit more dangerous to me than water in headlights

I used to be on google groups and anti-Toyota had beaten it down to death. Yes it was a problem that occured in Toyota Camrys of late 90s and early 2000. The main reason for this problem was attributed to people not getting their oil change and service done. Studies of comparisons among cars that were correctly serviced during that time and the cars that did not come in for oil change proved Toyota's point. None of the people who faced oil gelling could produce receipts and proof that they had their oil change done. Most of those people started thinking Toyota is bullet proof and will not have any problems even if you do not get the oil change done. Yes, that engine in those vehicles was more suspectible to oil gelling than normal engines, but it was completely avoidable provided the owners had taken the initiative to bring the car in for proper oil change at the right time. Nonetheless, Toyota fixed the problem on all of those vehicles and extended the warranty to 10 years on all those vehicles. Toyota also sent out a note to all owners to get the oil change done at the right time.

that is probably the most true statement i heard on this board yet. i love how we have threads on why we hate people who drive hondas. and that every toyota compared to a honda is better. it is truely funny.

no offense but in 1 year the only coupe in toyotas line up is goint to be a 25k dollar solara. which means there cars are going to be geared to an even older generation. and the scion is going to geared to 21 year olds.

but the xa, and xb imo are souly purchased on styling and how they can be modded. and the tc which i drove yesturday ( and barely fit in is gears to someone who is 5 foot 6. it is sooo small.

most people on this board hate the honda owner because of the stereotype. but i have news for u it goes both ways. and they are far more honda owners and boards and i know they are prob the same way.

    agreed.

Hondas and Toyotas are both good Japanese cars...

if you're going to bash a Japanese car company, bash Mitsubishi... ;)
