i wasn't payin attention to the thread where you described it..so can you tell us briefly once again, what do es this thing exactly do? how much installation is required? can you do this in a weekend in your garage? any special tools needed?

what he has told me is that its a simple mod to the tranny that takes a couple of hours and can be done in your garage if u know what u r doin...but it strengthens it so it can handle up to double the torque and horsepower output if i am not mistaken

well then ur gonna pay a pretty penny for labor. i asked some places and they want 5 bills to do the kit install.

if ur loaded, then eh... wutevers... but for me... i rather have the learnin experience and save 5 bills and put it towards my car payment or insurance. :D

umm..im gonna act like a foreigner who has no freakin idea what your talking about= 5 bills? like 5, 20 dollar bills? 5, 10 dollar bills? i took out the drane pan once and put in a new filter- on a difficulty scale, out of 5 stars, i would give it 4... b/c the damn gasket was being an ass.. AND the drain plug didnt move so readily..ALSO=the tranny fluid has SUCH a HORRIFIC smell! i could "taste" the smell for about a week afterwards- it was so horrible-

lol... 1 bill is equal to ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (U.S. dollars)

slang word used in california... or some other state...

um... the gasket that transgo use on my car is like "1 bill" each... i also use mobile1 on for my tranny... those two items alone will cost 1-2 bills...

so... 5 bills aint that expensive...

this kit is for the 245E... other kits will be made later on...

um... it shifts faster... shifts firmer... able to handle more tq... accelerates faster... tranny last longer...

    Sean2Sean,

I know you have listed this information numerous times but I will be fortifying my tranny (245E) this winter to the tune of $2200. Could you tell me exactly what the kit does. I don't know if you remember I have a turbocharged 7AFE 1.8L engine. I want to know if this will do the trick rather than having my tranny rebuilt. I only expect to be pushing a about 200 HP. Thanks for the info in advance

    i didnt know you have a 245e...

and what about $2200? im not following...

but if you have a 245e and only 200hp... then ull be fine with this kit... rebuilding the tranny... well it depends on how old it is... if its very old then ull prob have to rebuild it... but upgrading the better clutch packs and what now.. will only yield a ~10 percent increase in tq handling... as with the valve body modificaion... its a 100 percent increase.... give or take a few... i know my car is makin at least 200 on high boost... if not i wouldnt be able to hang with the faster cars out there.. and the tranny feels good... so yea... its a good investment...

and what is your name? harry? *confused*

    Thanks for the info Sean2Sean.

No I'm not Harry. My name is Steve I can get a shop that specializes in custom automatic upgrades but it would cost me about $ 2200 in parts and labor. If the kit can be purchased and installed for less money I am willing to go with that. I have a 1996 Corolla and currently experiencing some slippage at only 6 psi. Do you have a guesstimate o the price the kit will sell for? I was also thinking of upgrading the torque converter as well.

you heard wrong then... all the guys at transgo luv mobil 1 syn. for tranny...

they say... "its good stuff"

if its bad for ur tranny... then why would a reputable company like mobil one wants to manufacture it?

try it out urself... and ull notice smoother shifts... and ur tranny will last longer...
