    Water In Intake

I Have A Cold Air Intake That I Bought Off Of Ebay But I Don't Have A Bypass Valve For It. Will I Have I Problem If For Example, I Take It To The Car Wash And The Filter Gets Wet? I Don't Think Its Going To Get Too Much Water In It But Hopefully Someone That Knows Better Can Help Me Out. Thanx!!!

It is relatively very difficult to experience "hydro-lock" with most aftermarket intake systems. Unless the system was installed in such a way where it will come in direct contact with standing water or set in the fender well in such as way as to have water funneled to it - you should be OK.

Make sure that you check the filter regularly and that it gets oiled (if oil-gauze type" or "oil-foam type") and free of debris. If the filter does get completely soaked - you may run into a problem - keeping it in good shape will help reduce that possibility.

    Good Luck.

there is no point of geting a by-pass cuz...it willl only work if the whole filter was fully submerged. Remember they put that disclaimer for a reason. "for race-use only" ive have my E.L prototype CAi for over a year! I drove through heavy rain also! i only had one problem just the past week. a car right beside me hit a very big puddle and i suck it in. luckly not happen. i just changed my oil just to be sure.
