    newb suspension q's

hey guys, ive been on the forum for a while, and have been wanting to do a lot of things to my car for a while as well. however, my knowledge is limited. im looking to updgrade both springs and shocks in my ride, as it has 70,000miles on it, and the whole suspension seems to be shot. Especially in the back. When I accelerate, it feels like the car leans back too much and when i brake hard, the whole car feels like it titls like 20degrees. Not to mention going over bumps suck! especially with my 60 pounds subs+box in the back. I am considering the tein s-techs and the kyb gr-2's. Is that all Im going to need to replace or am i missing something out? After install, It seems like it will run me a lot more than i expected (3-400$) anyways, i know theres really no cheap/easy way out with anything, but I just wanted to know if i could just replace the basics and whether or not it would be sufficiant. Long post... sorrY!

That combo sounds good. Looks like you've done a little research. Just FYL, the KYB GR-2's are a very good strut, but they're going to be only a little stiffer than stock. The Tokico Blue's are going to be alot stiffer than stock and will give more of a performance ride, so depending on whether you want ride quality or performance, that's how you choose between those too.

As far as installation, don't go to the large chain places like Firestone or Goodyear, go to a shop that specializes in modifications. All the chain stores told me ~$400 too, but I found a little speed shop that said they would do it for $150, so it just pays to take a day and shop around.

Stay with the Tein and KYB setup cause I'm not a fan of the Tokico Blues. Other Tokicos work for me, but not the blues. Too many of our customer's rides blew those out within months.

oh thats cool. And its true that you shouldnt upgrade springs without upgrading shocks at the same time right? especially when the stock shocks have never been replaced? thanks for the info guys, hopefuly i will pay off my nation debt (credit card) soon, so i can invest in a suspension setup. thanks for the info. will go with the tein-s and kyb gr-2's.
