Normally a rear brake adjustment will make it better (there is a rubber plug that comes out to access the adjusters)

or u can find a empty parking lot.. backup, stop, backup, stop a couple times.. every time you do that the drum brake adjustment thing tighten itself by 1 click or something.. Craig's way is a lil faster but you have to remove the wheel and drum housing.

and you could try adjusting the cable itself.. remove the back piece of the center console, find the ebrake cable, use a open enf wrench to break open the upper lock nut then adjust the lower adjustment nut until the brake work with 3-5 clicks. tighten top lock nut and reassemble.

Emergency brakes dont work so well.

So like 4 months ago when i first got my car, My mom decided to go drive it around. little did she know, on manual transmission, u have to put the e-brake on when parking. She forgot to release the e-brake when she was driving it so yeah. She went around the block with the ebrake on. Now when i park, i have to pull it up to around 5 clicks or else it starts rolling. Does anyone know what to do to make the e-brake work better?

If you do the cable adj dont get too tight or the rear brakes will drag. CW

Just adjust your cable its not too difficult. Haynes said its supposed to click like 7 times I think, dont quote me on it. So if you go by what it says you shouldnt be over or under tightening it.

the rear drum brake has some sort of self adjuster, its built into rear brake adjustment knob in the drum.. It tighten itself whenever the car move in reverse and stops, like when you back out of a driveway it adjusts itself.. I dont really know how to explain it correctly but thats what my mech professor told me about drum brakes.
