Which subs do you have? Open or sealed enclosure? How big is it?

    I have the Rockford Punch 10" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohms Subwoofer
Model: P310D4. Sealed enclosure more than likely. Was gonna do a custom fiberglass speaker enclosure. It isnt made yet.

    Audio help!!

I have a new Pioneer DEH9600MP head unit and 2-10" Rockford Fosgate subs that I plan to mount in my trunk. My questions are:
    What size amp?
    how many channels?

Whats the best mounting, facing front or back?
Mounted in the front or back of the trunk?

I have seen several people mount in the back of the trunk but I read some where for best sound to mount near the opening. Any experienced sound guys/girls?

    Thanks peeps.

ok so when you say mount front or rear do you mean for front mounting the subs towards the driver? cause on my sub it sounds deeper and a little muffled but when u face it away it sounds louder and better idk if that helps any.

o ya i have a Audiobahn Single 12" Subwoofer with a Ported Enclosure, and to me it sounded better facing away but sometimes when i turned it like i said in my first comment sounded ok facing the front(driver) but in any cases hope this helped too. If you get your custom enclosure done post a pick here i would like to see it cause im lookin into doin somethin the same but right now i dont*(correction) just have the supplies and money to put into it but good luck man.

Generally firing it toward the rear sounds better. Best way to do is to find a good friend who won't mind the abuse of moving it around your trunk and closing it for you so you can hear it from all the angles. It's your system, you choose how it sounds best.

Oh yea your amp. Find yourself a one channel 1 ohm stable ~450-800RMS amp. The more power you send it the louder it will be. You can even go with a 2 channel amp if you want. It would have to put out 250-400RMS per channel @ 2 ohm though. Everyone tells you that you need to match up a sub with it's RMS rating. You really don't, the more you send it the louder it will get. 600RMS to a P3 should be plenty loud.

As for your box size.. go to the link below. Use a dual chamber box made of 3/4" MDF preferably.
