    Dash board light help! Quick!

my seatbelt is on and the seatbelt light keeps flashing....so i stretch the belt out and it disappears...why does that happen, im trying to figure out how to stop the flashing but I cant get it to do so....does anyone know the solution?

"my seatbelt is on and the warning sign on the dash is flashing" why?

is there a way to fix this issue?

Not sure of the year but some of the switches are in the unit that near the floor.

On my 00 Corolla I have a similar problem in reverse (no seatbelt light or buzzer anymore). For a while I could pull the belt in and out and get the light and buzzer.

Do not dissasemble the unit as it may not work afterwards and the later models have pre-tensioners tied in with the airbag system.

I would check with Toyota and see if they will cover (again not sure of year) if out of warr then junkyard search.

My mom's '98 corolla does the same thing.
When I'm driving, the seatbelt light will flash consistently. If I take the seatbelt off, it (usually) turns off. If my Mom is driving, or if I pull out the seatbelt farther, it turns off. We had a mechanic look at it and he couldn't find anything wrong...
