Need new Alternator but i want something with more juice....

The stock alternator is too weak. My lights dim out too easily. 75amp or w/e this alternator is, is way to weak. Sentra's have 110amp alternators.

Anyone know wats the biggest alternator u can fit in and how much and from where if possible?

I would also be curious about a new more powerful alternator. I've heard some rumors however that our cars electrical system wouldn't take kindly to a more powerful charging system. But this might be BS.

I spent all day with my buddies workin on cars and one has a Lexus IS300, another with a 03 Sentra SE-R and another with a 04 Sentra SE-R Spec V. All those cars are sickly fast. all are stock except the 03 sentra. The dude bought the spec v with the 6 speed for 14 grand new with 90 miles on it becasue someone returned it.

They all have 110 amp alternators or 150 in the lexus. You can really tell where the economy cars are...

They have 120 and 150amps, bout 230 dollars.

i wanna know too... i got too many electirical stuff goin on.. and when i idle... my volt meter always says 12.2-12.5

That site was mentioned on the old board by someone one time. I never did get to order one from it, cause im either selling car or engine swap this summer.

well, just remember, more powerful alternator requires more engine work, so expect some power loss on your drive train.

well its only gonna be like 1 or 2 hp, i don't care, i got plenty to spare lol

Have you considered a grounding kit? Considering the cost of those, it'd be a lot cheaper than an alternator, and if it didn't fix your problem, it would help you make the most of a more powerful alternator.

i think i'll try a grounding kit....
but if that doesn't work i wanna nkow if i can put a more powerful alternator on without messing anything up

I honestly don't know the answer to that.

There probably will be some strain on your electrical system...and some components may fail sooner than they normally would (any lighting, for example) because the car wasn't built to handle that kind of power.

Then again, that's what your fuses are for...if too much power runs through them, they'll break. Find out how much amperage the stock alt is, if I were you I'd go for the 120 amp instead of the 150, that sounds a little too much.

Luxury cars usually have power everything, heated seats, etc. so they need a lot of juice.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think 1ZZ Celica GT are having a more powerful alternator, water pump..etc then our 1ZZ rolla.
Since they're using the same engine, so I guess it's ok to upgrade the alternator.

i'm thinking about just buying like 4 guage wiring and trying to reground stuff, run new wiring to the battery and so on

i regrounded my motor/alternator... didn't help with the dimming at all. used left over 4 gauge monster cable from my audio install.

well there goes that idea.
