    Anyone used the Unichip?

I've been in contact with Dastek for awhile now about the PnP device ($699). It sounds like a good deal. Does anyone have this installed? It looks easy to install, but "easy" is a difficult term. What is the difficulty for installation?

    $699!?

You can get an eManage with all the goodies for $369..

I don't know what exactly the unichip does, but the Apexi Power FC is not a whole lot more expensive than a unichip (well..300 bucks..lol)

e manage with all the goodies is over 500 retail buddy. Thats just a pretuned one. I think the problem with the unichip is you HAVE to take it to a shop that has been trained to tune a unichip or something.

yeah, you have to have someone that is trained in the unichip to tune it for you apperently.

My bad -- that's the eManage and ignition harness..add timing and injector control harness kits for $67..unless you need the pressure sensor/harness and the optional PC package deal, it's still about $300 cheaper than the Unichip..

699 for a unichip?? And what gains would you get out of that?

Timing and injector kits are needed for you to really use the emanage...otherwise its worse than a safc2. And then if you do get the timing and injector kits you cant do anything with it unless you get the software package.

I'll probably go Unichip next on my rolla, and then put it back on the dyno. Won't be for another 6 months or so. Then we can really see the difference it makes and others can decide if they want it...

    *** CORRECTION ***

The harness David had on his car was DEFECTIVE. I threw a CEL from the moment I put it on my car. One of the pins was inserted in the wrong slot on the harness. Took Rick, my cousin, and me 2 hours to figure it out.

I have it on my car and is has been awesome. It has the ability to control a lot more points than the emanage. YOu will get a lot more power everywhere with the unichip. The unichip wasn't defective on Davids car.... there was just a difference between the 03 and 04 and the one he got was meant for the 03. Just a mistake that costed him bad..... which sucks but doesnt mean its a bad product. And it works the best with a heavily modded car because its more worth while at that point and the air/fuel and timing needs to be corrected.
