BOSS is one of those lesser brands that kinda bite of another name 'BOSE' They make somewhat decent equipment.

I'm always skeptical of manufacturers who list their max output power significantly over twice their RMS power. The computer industry is full of "600" watt speakers that cost only $30. My first boss used to tell me that they got the max power ratings by throwing the live speakers in a swimming pool, pissing in it, and measuring the peak power before they blow up. I think he's right.

I'd consider it a gamble. Other sites list it at $149. The power output ratings are questionable. 80 watts per channel from a head unit? How do they get those numbers.

BOSS is on the lower end of the spectrum, with Pyle...and 80 watts per channel....I doubt that.

It doesn't show anything for preouts, so you might lose out if you want to expand to an amp

80 watts max per channel. Besides that could be just a rating on a specific frequency. Some lesser manufacturers do that. It's most like 15-20 rms on the full spectrum.

I had a Boss deck for a while. Not the best, but it was alright for 6 months or so. My sister's boyfriend and I were working on it one day, relocating the subs to the trunk instead of the backseat, and somehow we lost all radio reception. Antennae was plugged in, everything was fine, but we just had no reception. I figure they're priced so low because you need to replace them every 6 months. But hey, that's just my luck. You might be different. Oh, and after that all, someone broke into my car and stole my deck that only played CD's :D
