FYI, Target sells some Car & Driver brand wheel covers for $15... some of them are moderately tasteful... One set looks a lot like the EK Civic Si wheel, and they have a polished aluminium look, so the rice factor is low. I had them on my Prizm before I got my "blinging" 14" wheels (smaller, lighter wheels = faster car)... I'd send you my covers if I hadn't already promised them to my friend's K-car (Plymouth Sundance)

I run the steelies in the winter with no hubcaps. The reason why I trashed mines where is a pain to store them and the steelies in a 1 bedroom apt

The worst is when they just don't leave them chrome but insist on painting the inner part that doesn't spin some bright color of the rainbow. The consistant choices seem to be red, blue or yellow. Which in fact don't match anything outside of the car but seem to match the some of the interior parts like the seat covers and air vents. I seem to also see many with minivans do this.

Just be happy you didn't see the gold pimped out minivan in brockton, ma, spinners and all. I wish I had a camera with me that day.

    Just quick edit...
"1989 was the Reliant/Aries' final year. As if to celebrate, the 2.5 went up to 100 hp, the most power it would ever produce without a turbo, and a four speaker stereo was made optional. By this time, the K had become a rather pleasant car to drive; LE models had plush cloth interiors, good sound insulation, nice digital radios, and, frequently, the 2.5/auto combination. They were quiet, plush and smooth-running, compared to the early models. And the prices were still rather cheap. As seemed to be Chrysler's tradition, the Ks, for their final year, were allowed to share the showroom floor with their replacement model - in this case, the larger A-body Spirit. The Spirit would offer features new to the K-car, such as stiffer steering (first seen in the "Euro-style' Lancer and LeBaron GTS) and a V6 motor. (The Webmaster suggests that the Sundance may have been meant to replace the K, with the Spirit replacing the 600, LeBaron, etc. However, the Spirit and Sundance were both heavier than the Reliant, leading to slower acceleration!)"

very bad idea...i learned the hard way when the "official" ones first came out like 2 years ago....
...they seemed like a good idea at the time. plus the same day i got them the spinner part of one of the hubcaps flew off (i was only doing about 45)...

it's funny 'cause right before they came out me and my friend were gonna "create" out own.

just stick to steelies for now (they'll still get you laughed at...believe me i know) and save up for some rims
