    2001 auto Rolla... hopeless?

I'm looking for any projector headlight housings, bodykits (NOT 98-00... these do NOT fit!), supercharger or turbo, etc... i'm sort of stuck with this 2001 auto corolla for my shop. so i've decided to 'try' to fix it up. where can I find parts for my gen specifically? i.e. 2001-2002 only. I've been searching the web for weeks and have only come up with 2000> or <2003.

    Thanks

please move this thread if there is a more appropriate place to put it, thanks

Hahah, yeah..... no to the bling bling. It's actually being used for advertising for my shop. SpeedImage Graf-X, I make vinyl graphics, tail light covers, eyebrows, etc. The rolla is my personal car and I'm setting it up for advertising. I plan on working on a project hatch for shows and strip use later.

wtf is wrong with people... civiceater, stfu. first you say go 'bling bling' then you assume that i'm gonna go rice up my car with graphics. i said i own a graphics shop. i'm using the car for advertising. this doesn't mean i'm putting flames and shit on it, it means i'm putting business information and website info on it. so no, i'm not ricing it up.
next time a real answer would be appreciated, not some stupid comment. try answering questions not post whoring.

for the last time, it's not a project. sure i'd like a few mods because my auto corolla isn't the fastest thing out there and like anyone else, i'd like a little more power. THAT is the main thing i'm looking into since i'm stuck with this car for now. as far as the exterior, the graphics are simple, plain lettering. business name, phone number, etc. like most business vehicles you've seen on the road. so again, it's not a fucking project.

    Jae Hoon
    SpeedImage Graf-X

the reason i'm not trying to show off the kind of graphics i am capable of on this car is because it's an auto and 4 door. just simple advertising. my future track car will have slightly flashier graphics but again, advertising.

it's surprising how quick someone is to jump on someone else's ideas or questions yelling 'rice rice rice'. stfu
it would be nice to talk to someone with actual information...

so i've noticed... I guess that's what I get for coming onto a Toyota forum, looking for advice or any helpful info from other Toyota owners or 'enthusiasts'. Oh well.

i have no reason to call you personally. i came to this forum to get several opinions regarding possible courses of action and actual information or leads on where to look for what i am searching for. that's the reason for the forum.

To answer the first question, the 00 is a little tricky. While the body style remained the same from the 98-99, some of them got the 4AFE engine, some got the 1ZZ-FE. If you have a plastic engine cover that says VVT-i on it, they you have the 1ZZ-FE. If not, then you have a 4AFE.

The Corolla and the Celica GT for 00-present have the same engine, the only difference being the throttle body, intake manifold and ECU are different in the Celica. There is no difference in the motor from an 01 S Corolla to an 01 base model. None. If you find engine parts that fit an 01-02 S, it will work on a 1ZZ-FE equipped 00. Any suspension parts you find for an 98-02 will work on all models. The only thing that is different in the S is the fog lights, interior (black with different steering wheel), and gauges (has a tach). If you cannot find body kits and stuff you like for the 98-00, there are a few threads on here explaining how to do the swap for the 01-02 front end. From what I hear it is not that difficult. There is not a ton of stuff out there, but it can be found.

www.monkeywrenchracing.com has a lot of engine stuff, you will probably want to go full custom for the turbo as the kits out there currently are crap. I am working to have a good one developed, but it will be about a year before it will be ready to sell to the public. Let us know if you have any more questions or comments.

WTF is going on in here?!

The 4a-fe does not come in any 98+ Corolla ever. The 98-99 Has the 1zz-fe With out VVT-i. In 2000 the VVT-i was added and in 2001 the front end (bumper/lights) was changed.

    Ding ding...We have a winner.

Oh and btw man, all of the performance will be the same for years 98-02, it's just the exterior (front bumper and headlights) that are different from '01 and '02.

lol minus the fact that 98-99 is completely different engine management, intake, etc, yeah, the "performance will be the same"

Well it is nice to know that the person you are all calling an idiot is apparently the only one who knows that the 98-99 had a different engine in it than the 00-02. So does possessing more knowledge than another make one an idiot? I guess I've got an outdated dictionary because I didn't know that was what the word idiot meant...

Oh yeah...did I mention he DOES know a thing or two about corollas? My bad.

I'm gonna..assume..this was directed toward me.

    1) That was a general statement, regarding the way he acted on his first post.

2)Shit even *I* know not to argue with him about corollas, the man does know stuff about them.

    3)Now piss off..

    EDIT:

After looking over his comments, i realize the man speaks the truth, but still there are only certain times you should really say stuff like that.

    civiceater,

i do admit you seem to know your stuff, i've seen other posts of yours. it would just be a lot easier if you would offer to share your knowledge in a helpful way instead of just clowning on other people. one question though... isn't the 00 corolla the same as the 98-99 as opposed to the 01-02? i'm not quite sure about which gen the engine is the same as, but the front end, i.e. the headlights and front bumper are the same as the 98-99, no?

    Jae Hoon
    SpeedImage Graf-X

i know that the 98-99's nearly identical to the 00-02's however most companies i've come across list parts available for 98-99, 03+... no mention of the 00-02's. also the few parts i've found for 01-02's have been listed as Corolla S parts only. from what i know, the Corolla S shares the same motor as the Celica, but a tuned down version to match performance of the VE, CE, LE, right? 125hp, 125tq... again i'm talking about the 01-02 years. where would i find parts for non-S's? i admit i'm new to the corolla, and even newer to automatics, so i appologize for any noob questions. i've previously only worked on civic hatchbacks 89-91, 92-95.

You can know all the shit in the world, but if youre an asshole bout things, no one gives a shit. (Referring to Joel, AKA Civiceater AKA "Im the greatest around" AKA "I enjoy running off new members" AKA "Im an arrogant prick")

So what stuff performance-wise have you blessed your with?

And if your so against graphics, whyd you take pics of these scions with graphics and FLAMES?

Stafford Fabrications in California offers a turbo kit for your Corolla for around $3,500.
For intakes Injen has a short-ram. Other crappier short rams can be had from Ebay or Weapon-R. I have an E.L Prototypes CAI on my 2001, but I doubt you could get one. Thermal R&D offers a cat-back exhaust. At this point no-one makes a header for the 1zz-fe equiped Corolla. Orthodox has under-drive pullies. And like mncrolln said, monkey wrench has a bunch of internal stuff if you want to go more hardcore.

Edit: also to concurr with what mncrolln said, there has never been any MECHANICAL difference between the Corolla S and the other Corollas for both the 8th(ours) and 9th(current) generations.

^^ Oh yes, the Corolla is a slow car that is hopless to mod, but the Xa, now there's a power-house. With 108 shaft shattering Flywheel Horsepower pushing a chassis that is a featherweight 65 lbs lighter than the Corolla, I can see why Civic Eater feels that this is a superior tuning platform.

The 4A-FE were available with the 1998+ Corollas. Some even came equipped with 6-speed manual transmissions. Just depends on the market destined for the car. You are correct, thought, that in 1998 - "US bound" Corollas were available with only the 1ZZ-FE.
