I agree, it may take awhile getting used to but it looks much better than the current modes. Cant wait to show this pic to my mom since shes has an 02 avalon.

I think this car will look very nice in real life. The current Avalon is a high quality vehicle, but very boring, bland and Buick-like. I never paid any attention to it. This one seems like a mirror image of that one. Although, I hate those steel wheels on it. If they put alloy rims on it, it would look very nice on the roads. It will sure kick the hell out of Acura TL, G35 and Maxima with that much power ( but, ofcourse Toyota will not offer a 6 speed manual transmission)

By the way, the new 3.5L engine will be shared with the Lexus IS350 GT ( no news about the IS430 production yet and maybe it will never happen either), but it will be tuned to deliver 320 HP and 300 foot pounds of torque and yes with a 6 speed manual transmission.

More than likely Toyota will use a 6-speed auto tranny.

I like it. I'm getting an Altima/VW Phaeton vibe from it. Its about time that the Avalon get sufficiently re-vamped.

Crap. And I was hoping the Crown was going to replace the Avalon.

If an ISXXX can look that good, it will slaughter the competition.

I doubt it's going to be a 4.0L V8. More likely a 4.3L V8.

On another note, this rumor crap is annoying me. Until I hear something official from Toyota, then i'll believe it.

Lexus already publicy stated that it's going to look similar to the Lexus IS concept they showed recently at an auto show.

i think lexus hired some awesome designers unlike toyota which stuck w/ those outdated ppl

I am counting the days towards the next generation IS series. It will sure be fascinating ( though, I would not be able to afford it!) :-D

I'm not digging the front end too much and the back end reminds me of a Nissan.

I agree, front end looks like a nissan for some reason. Its nice though, but its's still a grandma car.

I like it, has some sort of Cadillac look to it in the front.
