i would like to say that ive never driven a honda so therefore i cant fully participate in this thread but id like to throw something in.. driving a toyota corolla for several years and just recently getting into a tc ive learned that honda people flat out dont have any respect for us toyota people.. i dont know what it is.. vtech kills vvti etc etc.. thats all i hear from honda people yet when i ask them if they know what vtech is they just look at me all funky.. yet when i ask a toyota person if they know what vvti is answer rolls off their tounge like that..

The reason why Toyota is pummeling Honda so badly in every segment is because Toyota aggressively launches new models every year and adds something fresh to the existing models ( Corolla XRS this year, Camry gets a face lift as well). Toyota launched 5 models just in one year ( 2003). Next year (2005) both Lexus and Toyota combined will launch around 7-8 new models including the next generation IS300, GS300/430, next generation Camry, RX400H etc. Honda only launched the element in the year 2003, which is not a mainstream vehicle anyway. Honda either does not have the resources or they are just too cheap to be feeding the customers with the same old stuff year after year and charging so much for old school stuff.

Well if u guys think TRD is expensive. HPF (Honda Factory Performance) is insane. We had one civic with the HFP package and it was over 20k. Took about a month to sell the damn thing.

except he said when he talks to them

i think it's funny how u guys bring up mugen, and spoon, and the other companeis. we were referring to factory performance options like TRD, not aftermarket, cuz a lot of those companies are starting to look at toyota now too, especially with teh release of the scion line

i drove many cars b4 since i used to work in a autobody shop... imo Toyota and Honda are the best out of japan and best at what they do... Toyota build cars that are good for everyday use while Honda build cars w/ good handling and sporty in mind...

I have two Honda freak roommates, and I totally agree, they are always talking trash about Toyotas and talking trash about other people and their cars, they even trash talk other Honda owners sometimes, lol.
