    Sub Install Help Please

I jsut got a new sub, box, and amp and wired everything up but it doesnt work. I have a sony xplod deck and not sure where the remote wire is supposed to hook up to. I tried connecting it to the amp rem and antenna rem but it still didnt work. I tested the both the positive and ground and got a 12V reading on them but I didnt get one from the remote wire. Any ideas?

Got it to work this morning. There was a problem with the ground. Thanks a lot for your help.

The "remote" wire that you use for hte amp doesn't need to be an actual "remote" wire, just one that gets +12V only with the ignition on. I forget what I ended up using for mine but it wasn't the "remote" wire (it was still blue, though).

So just test for a +12V with the ignition on and 0V with the ignition off and you're good to go.

the remote is the blue wire on the harness. it is usually a good i idea to hook it up.

Just make sure that you hook up the remote wire, should go directly from the deck to the amp, any old wire will work. If you don't have the remote wire hooked up, you run the risk of leaving the amp always on even when the car is off.

Yeah, I had the remote wire hooked up to the blue wire from my deck but the problem I ran into was my ground. I got it working and it sounds really good especially for spending less than $90 on the entire setup. I bought a brand new 10" Pioneer sub for $50 and its adequate bass for me. Thanks for the help guys.
