    my new tires

I gots me some new tires today. Got a great deal because i got them from where i work. And i didnt have to pay mounting/balancing because i did it after work today. I got Bridgestone Potenza RE92s. They were the best ones my manager could get from firestone for my size wheels. I am excited to test them out.

they were the best ones available!!!!!!!!!!! im running stock 14" steel wheels. there were 3 other choices that were crappier that i had to chose from and i got the best one possible. I needed them badly and this was all i could get. Im happy with them. I know they wear fast but they only need to last till next spring/summer. They are basically for the winter. And they have pretty good grip. way better than my previous tires, bt70's i think they were. they are really good in the rain, i can take turns faster than i could take my last tires dry and not slide at all. and on dry pavement they are great for turning, dont grip that great on launches but they are still good. Sorry that i didnt get falkien azenias or whatever the hell those are

yeah but i dont think you understand that my tires were bald. in the rain i would drift/fishtail around every turn. It was unsafe and probably illegal. And, the last night, after i put them on, i actually got pulled over and may have gotten a ticket for them.

I know what talking about about bald tires. All 8 of tires are on the wear bar. I have to spend about a grand in less than a year on tires.
And you will not get pulled or in trouble for having bald tires.

Its a good thing that you got new tires and I understand about money, but I am just saying that if you have saved a little bit more you could have gotten better.

it wasnt about saving more and getting better ones. I could not have had them mounted and balanced for free or have gotten a discount on them if i didnt get them the way i did. I would have had to pay double...and for what? I little better performance and a little longer lasting? I dont need them to last 50,000 miles

Yea, at least you dont have rims.

I have rims and live in a state that gets snow.
So I have to at times buy both Winter tires for the steelies (200 bucks) and tires for the rims (about 700 bucks) and it even sucks more when both come at the same time.

That is not bad considering that the tire rack has them for $52 each, and you still need to factor in shipping and mounting and balancing. Mounting and balancing may be up to $40 depending on where you reside.
