Yea, thats excatly what I do.
I see that there is a cop behind me, I check my speed and if its a ok speed I put the cruise on. It has saved my ass before.

    No limit cruise control?

Just to let you guys know, today I was driving on a pretty clear highway first thing in the morning. So I said to myself, I wonder up to how fast you can set the cruise control up to? I was going almost 90, and turn it on. I just kept accel. from there. Kept holding the cruise control up...100...110...115...hit the governed speed limit!!! Then I figured it would just shut off, but NO, it was still active and maintained at 115!!! [after the engine gave the kick back] So, I got freaked up and was approaching a group of traffic so I just shut it off. Pretty scary though, most cars will not let their cruise go over 90 or so. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up...not like many of you out there would try something like this to begin with...but thought I would let you know.

Its not that hard, just learn your exhaust tone at certain speeds.
I can tell you how fast I am going just by listening to my exhaust.

I drove a Camry once that if you lifted the E-Brake it would cancel the cruise but my Corolla will not.

Does anyone know if the cruise will release if the car is shifted into N while engaged ??

I maybe need to experiment at low speed to see if it will because it is very easy to knock them into neutral.

yes any clutch action will turn it off. Most won't engage until after 30, cuz below that the rpms are too low and it can't give the right amount of gas to keep a steady speed. The corolla says it won't engage till after 30 but ive done it before.

You can turn on your cruise control, then hold decel. Then the car can cruise at the speed that the cruise control cannot engage normally.

Thats exactly what I use it for! It's so tempting to just fly down those straight 25mph streets. I don't think I could live without cruise control though, I make 2 hour trips a few times a week and cruise control just makes it so much easier.

yeha, i use cruise for going the speed limit on a highway, or keeping at 25, but it seems so weird doing that, because like someone said earlier, the car has a hard time deciding what to do, and if i leave it in full auto, it'll keep switching from 3rd to 4th gear, and back, so i hafta put it in SS, and keep it in 4th.

other than that, i use cruise to keep a perfect 75 on the way to and from school.
