DIFFERENCES between 01-02 steering wheel, help!

    DIFFERENCES between 01-02 steering wheel, help!

    i want to switch to a Corolla S steering wheel, however I've called places who have them and say that the airbag may be different. i'm guessing that the center part of the steering wheel, has to be the same? the center piece of the steering wheel off the 3-spoke S one obviously is different from the rest of the 4-spoke ones. Is the center of the steering wheel attached to the airbag assembly, or is it some kind of a removable cover (i notice the airbags deploy, but it comes out differently since the different shapes)? any help appreciated.

    also if this is not economical, tips on how to paint my existing 4-spoke steering wheel (LE)? how to remove, paint tips, etc.

    You can put a 01-02 Corolla S wheel on a 01-02 LE with no problems.
    You can also put a 01-02 Celica steering wheel on you car with no problems.

    i didn't realize that much parts can be interchanged between the celica/corolla. i think the guy who told me i needed to buy the airbag too was trying to get more money? sigh

    you can also put the S wheel on ae10x's with no problem as well!!

    yes, they're interchangeable. no, you don't need an aftermarket hub or anything like that.
