There are several people here that have done it.. try www.2003corolla.org as well... Its definately worth it .. the car will feel like a totally different car.. One guy on here has a smaller pulley which raises the boost. that's the way to go.

you're talking about underdrive pulleys right? do you know where i could find a set that would fit on my 99 CE? and if so, how easy/hard is it to install?

I've had the S/C installed for almost 10K miles. It was a good gain, about 30-36 HP per the specs. I would have rather gone with a turbo, but my first concern was warranty and emissions. That went out the door when I figured I didn't have to smog the car until 2007. Since then I've added a few extra parts and finally last week got my Injen CAI to fit after cutting it a bit. I'm not too worried about the CAT since I went ahead and replaced everything header back. The TRD S/C had it's drawbacks. A conservative TRD Piggyback ECU, and no intercooler. Pro's are low to little maintenance, warranty, doesn't make the engine and oven like a turbo, and adds maybe an extra 40 lbs to your car.

There is a 03' corolla that was on 2003corolla.org (until it went kaputz) and on MO.com, that has been dyno'ed at around 190WHP. His sig is BLK03Corolla (i may have screwed that up a bit). I met up with him about 2-3 weeks ago. In addition to my mods above, he has the Aquamist System, 9lbs pulley, Unichip custom tuned, TRD CAI instead of Injen, Centerline 17x7 that are about 13 lbs a piece, and he was working to get a RPS clutch and Fidanza flywheel installed. Go to MO.com and look around.

TRD does not recommend putting any aftermarket intake on it's supercharger. It will void the warrant. But from what i've read the TRD CAI is the only one that will physically fit. AEM CAI etc will not physically fit. The alternative is to use a short ram or just a high flow filter with the stock box.

TRD does not recommend putting any intake on because it will kill your Cat-coverter..

Hmm... I'm assuming its because the Unichip wasn't tuned for the extra air. Are unichip modifications easy to have done, or is it pretty hard tuned?

Sup Man.... yea it was good meeting you down in Cali. Fun few days. Yea I am getting the clutch and flywheel installed on Monday and something I hadnt talked to you about is if I cant get in the 13's by the end of the racing season here in Oregon I am going to build the engine with Pistons, Rods, Valves, Valve Springs, and maybe the MWR Big Bore kit to 2.0l. From there I will run nitrous and be in the mid 13's. I also took out my rear seats and subs and the car responds a lot better now. I really should be able to hit 13s after the clutch and flywheel with the weight reduction though. The main thing holding me back about building the engine is that this is my only car and would be out my ride for a month :(

Yea keep me infromed I am running out of things for my car. My only remaining projects are Tein SS Coilovers, HID, and a posible rebuild and nitrous, oh and maybe brakes too. I would apgrade more audio/video and appearance but I dont want the added weight anymore.

lol~~ then you should custom made Carbon Fiber Bumpers, trunks, doors, fenders.. that should take 100 to 200lbs off..

That would be awesome if I was in Cali and could find a company that would do that. I would be all for it. I dont know about doors lol do people really do that? Definitly keep me informed with how that works out though. If new parts become available that you are aware of let me know on those too seeing I am always looking for more to do. :)

yes, ... Doors actully weight the most.. if you change all four doors, you should be able to take off 50 to 100 lbs...

if you have money.. you might be able to have this guys make it for you... you'll need to pay for the mold (which cost about 8000).. and carbon fiber (another 2000 i believe)... expansive huh? :D, but hey... you will be the only one that has that kit and they cannot sell it to public.. which means.. you OWN it..

That is so crazy 10 grand for that wow. Maybe if you were going for extreme show that would set you apart from anyone else. But just for weight loss lol. If they made something to purchase without being that custom that may be another story.

    or maybe this..

if you really want to reduce the weight.. you might want to look into this... lightweight battery
    http://www.vpower.net/catalog/produ...products_id=101
it will take off about 30lbs from the front of your car..

Is that a direct replacement.... any draw backs. If not I will probably order that from you. Any other ideas? I think I am going to pull out my AC too because I went through our hottest summer here without it working and rather than buy a new condensor I may just take the condensor off and all the components of it. How hard are they to get to? Looks like we got a little off topic here but oh well its all useful information. Do you have any other ideas for weight loss?

well.. this is the company that makes it.. http://www.performancedistributors.com/batteries.htm
it might be cheaper and faster if you order it direct from them.. or even get sponsership from them..

it will fit for sure.. i have it on my old 98 corolla.. it works great... the only problem is that you have to find a way to tie it down..

other ways to reduce weights?? get Sparco CF seats... that will take another 15lbs off each seats, so total 30+lbs for both seats.. but it's expensive as hell... around $1500 per seat... you might want to see if ebay has it..

you might also want to think about change all your windshield to plastic (or whatever you call it..) the only down side is.. it's not street legel... but it can take off about 90lbs... don't know the price tho.. (my friend has it on his civic.. it's soo light)

hehhe Just lose weight :p, joking, I have better way to reduct the weight, take one passager seat and the back seat off, take your spare tire away... :p there you lose around 20lb, however i not recommend peoples to do it. however TRD s/c owns. :p

He's talking about an overdrive pulley... Underdrive pulleys are sized bigger to reduce rotations. Overdrive pulleys are smaller to increase them, for this instance to raise boost. You can find underdrive pulleys from AEM(use the celica GT or GTS) or the ASP underdrive kit.

hey ty it was great to see your car! I have to see what my dyno numbers are tomorrow with my current setup. I was thinking about 1/4 mile times and wanted to know if it is possible to swap transmissions? I know the gearing in ours cars is fairly close 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but 4th lags a bit before really kicking back in. Besides losing weight off the car, I thinking researching it can't hurt. The other thing I was thinking is possibly an engine swap unless it is possible to increase the stroke of the engine to get more torque which is something our engine lack. I have no idea if any of this is feasible but rather then spend 10k plus for carbon fiber parts, that money could go to strengthening your internals (which is a good idea anyway) and other performance enhancing parts.
