    I think that I have a buyer!!!!!

So there is this guy that has a hatch. It could be decent looking but he's fucked it all up. It has a widebody kit, GS300 tailight conv., and some 7spoke black wheels. Only problem is that he just got it out of the paint shop and it's light blue with LOTS of flake! It looks like a damn bass boat. Oh and it has bags on it too.

Anyways, he is trying to sell it and I told him that mine is for sale also (for 8 G's) and he was all over it man!! He was excited and all about getting it! I ah ready finally!

OK I know that I am going to get bashed for this but I am getting a hatch and I am not sure what motor to drop in. I want a K20 but that's some $$$!!! I am thinking about a LS with a VTEC head or maybe a B20 with a GSR head. What do you guys think?

    what year hatch?

anyways, just drop a b18c5 if you have the cash, do a full changeover

or if you want, do an LS-R conversion, with a LS block and GSR head..best of both worlds..cheaper and it's quick also..and better for FI compared to b18c5..

or if you wanna do a cheaper swap, but still have fun, do a b16a swap, that's my stock engine from the SI..lots of fun in a light weight hatchback

Yeah...I just wanted to do something different. It seems everyone has a B16 in a hatch but there is a half-cut sittin in the floor at my shop. I REALLY REALLY want to do the K20 b/c nobody really has that. I will prolly end up doing the LS-R though. I dunno it's really up in the air right now.

    Oh and btw it's a '93 model.

See that's what I am talking about! Oh and that hatch has a decent red paint job and I plan on just putting on coilovers and some wheels. I have already figured out my tag...'

bullshit, the h22 is only 74 pounds heavier than a b16a, that's just like driving with a skinny import model on your hood, it is NOT going to affect your steering..

You got basically the same plans as me cept im workin wit a 99 coupe...

the k20 swap RIIGHT NOW...is not worth it. After all the lil shit u gotta buy to make the engine work and all the labor...it will come close to 7k. Plus jus think about how much more widespread the k20 will be in a year or 2. As more k20a get junked in the JDM...more get over here. k20a2(rsx-s) is about 4k but u gotta remember u still need mounts...the wiring harness...new fuel setup...custom headers...all the lil things plus labor. I say buy the hatch...swap in a jdm b16a sirI since that swap in like 2500 out the door and ull have fun to hold u untill the k20a comes to around the price of a b18c/c5.

EG(92-95) hatchs and dc2(94-01) integras have the best mounting position for the k20 but the Ek(96-00) civics have mount kits already too so jus choose want style honda u like best and buy..thats wat i did.

Ima run nitrous or greddy turbo kit on my EX untill the k20a is aroung 5.5k swapped n' out the door.

It has a salvaged title...So it pretty much has to be cash...Nuff said.

But if anyone on this board is feelin froggish...Hey, just let me know! I would rather sell it to someone out of town anyways just b/c the ass will prolly put another bass boat paintjob on it and I will have to see it all the time.

But, as long as I get my money...Who gives?! :)

Have you considered an H22? The motor/tranny goes for about 2k and you need Hasport mounts/kit, which is around 500. The H22 makes 200 HP and more torque than B series. The swap alone typically puts a hatch in low 14s, high 13s. Throw in some nitrous and try to get into 12s. :D

As for the bad paint, just sand it down until it's primer or spray paint it black. :D Also check out honda-tech.com, there's more tech there than you can possibly hope to learn in your life. :p

Nah...A guy in my club already has a H22a in his civic with a 65shot. It is indeed fast but a VERY heavy motor. It's just not a good swap, actually kind of stupid because all of the weight. It's like putting a 2jz in a Corolla...It has been done but why?! Way too heavy.

With the LS-R swap mentioned in above posts, you will get good HP and the LS motor is strong but the kicker is that with a GSR head, you can get major torque!!!

The LS block aint made for the high revs of the GSR head. So unless your gunna work on the bottom end dont do it. You can always not rev as high but thats dumb...jus get a block thats made for vtec. And y would u get a GSR head. The b16/b18c-R head is better flowing. Also the GSR has secondary intake runners that wont be beneficiant for u.
