    bums at local circuit city

okay, today i went to get my sony headunit installed into my jetta... and the bums call me and tell me there are a bunch of missing parts from the box... yet the only time i opened the box was to put the toyota radio in it... so they lost the parts and pinned it on me... wonderful

That's why I do my own installs...especially a head unit. It's so easy...it's not even worth paying Circuit City or Best Buy to do it.

lemme retract the previous statement... i feel like an ass now... after looking around i discovered that the missing part they needed had fallen off my stock headunit and was laying in another box... so i went over there & gave it to them. but they were all ready to give me one from another sony headunit and sell it to me for 10 bucks but also refund me for a harness i needed that cost 10 bucks... so to sum it up, im stupid and the guys at my circuit city are in fact, not bums.

As far as installs go, I think it depends from store to store. As far as customer service goes, Circuit City hands down. It's not even a competition. Best Buy goes out of their way to fuck the customer when they have problems. Circuit City is known to be reasonable.

Philip Schoonover (Best Buy Executive VP:( "The question is, how public do you go with it, and how big a deal do you make out of it? There are ways of discouraging people from shopping in your store without point-blank telling them you don't want them in your store."

A customer trying to call a Best Buy store to see if an item was in stock got their call center and this was part of the exchange:
"I'm sorry sir, this is a call center, only best buy employees may speak directly to stores now. Please visit your local store. Thanks."

Don't bother buying anythign from Best Buy that you could possibly ever need customer service for. Stick to CDs, software, etc. I pitty the fool who buys a car audio stereo system or computer from them...

Your buddy jeff got ripped off then...install here is about 60 bucks.

Just install it yourself, and take pride that you did the work yourself. Takes about 20 minutes total.

you guys have to pay for head unit installs????? At my local CC and BB they give free installs for head units over 99$. And most people buy ones that are over 99$. you just have to pay for the harness and some other stuff, like 15 bucks i think. I think CC will even install your amp/sub for free if its over 300$
