    Is SoCal becoming REALLY dusty?

I don't know if it's me, but year by year, I notice that I'm doing more car washes because of the piles of dust that gathers on my car after just a few drives. This year it's just awful; washing my car almost every other week, where it used to be I can drive for a month and it'd still be acceptably clean.

Anyone notice this? Or am I being paranoid?

Is the smog in the socal area a significant factor?....last time i was in LA (about 8 years ago) I remember lookin at the city from a far and saw a plum of smog over the city around the noon time (i remember the time cuz we went to disney and universal at noon one day and noon the other day....hehe..

Anyways, somewhat off topic, in Oklahoma, the only thing relative to what you guys are experiencing would be the occassional "dirty" thunderstorms that turn everyones car into a reddish orangey brown dirty color cuz of the dirt from Texas and/or West Oklahoma being picked up and dumped on Northeast Oklahoma and Kansas...

You're absolutely right. My car is black, thus explaining the reason why I wash it every other freakin' day. I fully detailed it yesterday, and by the time I get to work this morning it needs another wash! It's the dirt, dust and mud that accumulates on the sides of the roads after rain and wind. Cars are blastin' by kicking it up on everybody and everything. What's sad is there's not a damn thing we can do about it

Yep. I live near a whole bunch of sites. They are building everywhere in my area (Inland Empire). Where I live you can't keep your car clean if your life depended on it

SoCal is right by the desert, so it probably carries...
