    Automatic shift knobs

anybody know where I can get a cool looking automatic shift knob for my 99 corolla. As you all know, the shift knobs that came with my year corolla are long as hell, and not all shift knobs fit in there and still look good. Any suggestions??? or anybody that had one in their 99 corolla that can show some some pics?

We've got a nice silver with black leather one at work. I think it's about $15.

You can occasionally find some nice ones on eBay, like mine.

You just push it down and move it into gear.

Not that long, just long enough so that I can keep the od button where it is and not have the stock looking knob.

where do you (people with automatics) get your shift boots? are they the universal ones? 'cause i got one from a junkyard off of an old eagle talon but it was a tad too big. also, does anybody know where i could get a factory shift boot (from a manual corolla...preferably the 98-02 model)?

Mine is just a universal type, it is pretty long and i end up jamming alot of the material down into the center consol. It looks decent though I think.

You could always rewire the overdrive button back up. I don't know if theres a trick to it but just getting the stock shifter back on is really hard. I took it off once before I bought my new shifter to figure out how I was gonna do it and it took me forever to figure out how to get the shifter button pushed back in.

You'd have to get a automatic shift knob. I don't think a manual one would work unless you modify it. You have to have some way of pushing in the shifter button and unless you disengage the button you can't pull the key out.

i had the same problem. i still haven't put my overdrive back in the right spot...it's still connected, but for the moment it's just hanging hear the base of the shifter.

btw, would it be better to get an automatic shift knob or a manual shift knob for an automatic?
