Damn them... what other sport car does toyota has? SC430?? come on.... dats way too expensive and performance wise it suck compare to competition.
Supra was killed because low sales.. hey look at NSX.. they sell really2 slow but tyet they still selling it.

The previous gen Celica they should have sell the GT-4 version like the one they sell in europe. 2.0 liter turbo 4WD 260hp. damn.. they should have started the WRC fever long long time ago when they were still on top instead of Subaru.

as for MR2 I like the previous gen better. look like mini ferrari... the poor's man exotic car. small light and MR setup. should be a Lotus killer but I guess toyota was not that ambitious.

I have read it with my eyes on the clubrsx.com message board that RSX Type S vs. GT-S is a driver's race.

Yeah Sean, the new Elise preforms as well as exotics like the 911 GT3, 360 Modena, etc. If you want a car that is 100% a drivers car, the Elise is it.

Oh and it could absolutely ass-rape a boxter.

well basically i never liked the car because i am 6 foot 1 and my head was right on the roof. i dont like that. also the price was just outragous. there avtion package adds like 3 grand to the price. what are they smoking. now i am not saying that i wouldn't own one. but the space is just no appealing. no hatch area. and i image it gets uncomfortable.

i'm guessing... ppl up here in canada will possibly see SCION coming to your local toyota dealer... i mean if they cancelled the celica, toyota will hav no sports car line up in toyota canada... the only close thing is the Solara but its not a sports car its a car like the Chrysler Sebring kinda sports touring coupe...

    Elise: MSRP $39,995
    0-60 4.6 sec
    1/4 mile 13.6
    1.01g skid pad
    slalom speed 70.04
powered by slightly modified Celica GT-S engine

    Boxster S: MSPR $52,635
    0-60 5.6 sec
    1/4 mile 14.00
    0.94g skid pad
    slalom speed 65.7mph
    powered by Porsche

Lotus could have chose any engine they wanted for their new entry level super car, they chose Toyota for the performance and the reliability. Nuf said.

The Celica is not slow, but once you get close to $30K your options are so varied that a Celica GT-s seems under powered and a little less than impressive at that price point. Lemme see $27K for a 180hp FWD 15.3 sec car...$30K for a 271hp AWD 13.6 sec car...$33K for a 300hp AWD 13.4 sec car...$30K for a 305hp RWD 14.3 sec car...
I really wanted a Celica GTS, but when it comes right down to it, I would drop a lil over $30K for a car with almost or over 300 ponies much quicker than I would $27K for one with 180. It just sucks. If it sold for $22K new (or you could find one the dealer/Toyota didn't rape with options which brought the $23,900 base price tag to the usual $26,900+ I usually see them for) you would get an awesome car and a hell of a deal. I am sure they couldn't keep them on the lots. For $27K the competition just starts to get so fierce that it is hard to justify, at least im my pocket book..

Toyota was selling the All-Trac when they won a WRC championship. It's just that no one knew about it. Speed channel didn't exist back then for us all to watch.
