I had a college student high on No-Doze and caffenine think that there was no cars behind this truck pulling into her freinds apt complex. BTW This was not in Rolla is was in my moms subu wagon. She pulled out and hit me while I was doing about 50 and put the passenger side wheel and struts combo into the passenger compartment, it took my cell phone that was in the incar hands free set, put it throu the roof and then on the road. I got burns from the airbags deplaying and glass in my eye and a really badly brusied leg.

Her, she was Helicoptered out of there, last I heard she had a broken neck, broken ribs broken wrists and broke one of her legs.

She was up for 2 days studying for a test and she was running late.

Sorry to hear about the rolla man at least it did its job, nice choice on another car BTW

    Totalled My Corolla :(

I havent been on this web site in a long time, just thought I would check back and see what had changed. I used to own 00 Black Corolla, sadly and auto tranny. I loved that car, it was my first car. Just felt well built. I was driving with my friend one day and some asshole kid who just got his license hit me doing at leat 40 mph, and the was the end of my corolla's front end. Both airbags went off, i was lucky i decided to put my seat belt on that day. Needlees to say my car got fucked up. But for a small economy car, it held up very well. It certainly did its job, because i walked away without a scrath from that accident. My insurance gave me a lot of money towards a new car since the accident wasnt my fault. With the money i saved up from work and the insurance money I bought a 2001 Black Nissan Maxima SE. I have always the maxima. I got a good deal on the 01 Max so I bought it. I took awhile because it felt a lot bigger. Especially with 222 HP, its a real cruiser. But I still miss the old corolla. Just thought i would share my story on how my corolla saved my life.

I was stopped at a red light at 2am. A guy rear ended me in his Jeep Wrangler. He was doing 45mph and didn't even touch his brakes before hitting me. My corolla had over 7k in damage and my insurance company didn't total it. I walked away with sore neck muscles and thats it. My corolla kept me safe too.

damn that sucks man. 7k to fix it? your car must have been new. because if the insurance company pays more than half of what the car is worth to fix isn't it branded as a salvage????

sorry to hear about your car man.

My prizm did it's job last summer. I was going down the road minding my own damn business and this 17 year old girl with her 2 other teen friends in her benz decided to make a left...i guess she didn't see me, it was totally unexcusable. My car totally spun around but kept me safe. It was fixed eventually and I got new paint and everything, as well as a decent sum, with more on the way for the settlement. Moral of the story: Rolla's/Prizms are tough.

Sorry to hear that -- at least it held together for you =)

My mother was rear-ended in her '89 Grand Voyager..blew both rear windows out and bent the van..looked almost like someone kicked it on the underside -- hard. It was some guy with a learners' permit..in his mother's car, without permission. The police said he was probably doing 45+mph..

my dad was in my corolla back when it was his about 2 or 3 years ago and he got rear ended by a box truck going about 50 mph and the corolla skidded and then he got knocked unconcious and the car rolled into a sign on the other side of the road and it totalled to 11k worth of damage when the car was only worth 10k at the time and the insurance company got it repaired...wow it was so smashed up...there was no back end...and my dad only got a slight injury in his shoulder from it...man i thought he wouldve died but the rolla held up

they're tough little cars - marlon (a former corollacarclub member) rolled his 99 END OVER END twice (ill refrain from stating what stupid thing he was doing when this happened), and came out of it with a broken collarbone and some bruises. thats it.

i saw pics of what was left of the car - one wheel was still attached - everything from the firewall forward was gone, except part of the left fender. the rear was smashed completely in, up to the back seat. all the pillars holding the roof were bent, but held up. he was actually out of the car and called for help before anyone else could lol. TOUGH cars.

i'm sorry i was recently in an accident too (last month)...going about 40 mph, but at least my airbags didn't go off on me, only need to change the front bumper and the headlight on the right side cuz the brackets that were holding it broke off. the only thing i got was whiplash, thank god...but yeah, i trust toyotas

My rolla was 5 months old :)

I was very surprised and angry that my insurance company (AAA) did not total my car and get me a new one.
