    Damn Amp FUSES

So my subs stopped thumping and i realized that it was the power wire that was loose. so i hooked it up and it blew my 2 fuses in my 760 watt amp. I unhooked the battery and then replaced those with 2 new ones. As soon a s i hooked up the battery it blew them againa and also my inline fuse. I replaced the inline fuse and the amp fuses and as soon as i hooked up my battery the 2 amp fuses blew again. HELP!! Everything is hooked up right with no loose wires.

2 Amp fuses ?? maybe in a control circuit but CANT be for the amp section.

A bad connection can damage components.

Your power cable is shorting someplace. You will have to check every inch of the cable to find where it is shorting. It may be right at the amp connections, or somewhere in between. Sorry for the vague post, but that is one of those things where you have to look very carefully at every connection, and inch of cable to determine your short. That is what fuses do, burn themselves so your ride does not. How about disconnecting the cable from the amp, replaceing the in-line fuse, connecting the battery, and checking to see if the inline fuse burns. if it does, then it is definitely some part of the cable that is shorting to ground.

    Good luck.

I diconnected the power wire from the amp and installed the inline fuse, and it didn't burn out. I will check every inch of the cable.

Then the power cable is fine. It must be something at the amp connectors, or maybe the amp itself has a short. Also make sure no part of your power cable is touching the chassis of the amp, or any strand is loose and touching something. You may even want to buy new blade butt connectors and redo the connection. Lastly, what gauge wire are you using, and how is your power diagram? The more details, the better. Using electrical tape to insulate all the bare cables is also good.
