    It will fit, but why???
It has a shock in it  This would seem to negate the benefits of a body-stiffening strut bar, wouldn,t it?

having a shock does not make it active.

if any of you have seen under the hood of the new xrs you would see a front upper strut tower bar already on the car. I am not talking about the actual strut. Anyways the front upper strut tower bar for the XRS is newly designed and is called an active strut tower bar. When your turning a corner aside from a normal tower bar stiffening the front suspension and holding it at THAT stiffness and the one from the XRS stiffens the suspension the harder you turn. Meaning less body roll the harder you turn. It's hard for me to explain cause I don't even know 100% how it works but I have been told that it works better and the normal front upper strut tower brace that TRD sells for the 03+ rollas. Damn I wish I had a pic of it. Can anyone post a pic of the Rolla XRS front strut tower brace?

They actually put a shock in it to make it less stiff and more comfortable for the diver. Think about it, what will be more stiff a solid piece of metal, or one that is two parts and cushioned with a shock absorber? I read that a regular strut bar was too stiff for the everyday driver, so they had to throw in a shock absorber to make it more compliant.

If you really want a good stiff feel, you would need one that grabs at four point, the other two being at the firewall. Now, that is a good brace! :D

Like someone else say, marketing scheme. Toyota wanted a strut bar to make it look good, but not the stiffness that goes with it.

having a strut bar doesn't equal less body roll. and yeah, sounds like a gimmick.

yet another half-assed attempt for toyota to incorporate a "good ride quality" with "performance"

Thanx everyone for clarifying that for me. does anyone know if there is a 4 point strut bar out there for the 04 rolla's? if not how hard would it be to get one custom made? If I had to make it custom do you think I could start with the TRD one and mod that to a 4 point? sorry about all the questions! and thanx agian I would have wasted my money buying a strut bar that looked fancy instead of one that works better!
