    Ebay Fraud

I paid for an item on Ebay and the seller seems to be trying to walk with my money. He won't respond to my repeated email attempts and has recently closed his paypal account.

Has anyone else gone through this? Did you ever get your money back through Paypal?

there isnt really anything you can do... paypal doesnt really care if u get scammed... unless like 100 people get together and do something to the same buyer.

you'd think paypal can help you out.. by say... tracking down their bank account or something...

just try not to buy something that seems too good of a deal.. and hope for the best.. if u paid more than 25 , u can get money back from ebay through their fraud protection program. Otherwise... just be more careful next time.

Paypal essential does nothing if their cant recover from their bank account. It may seem secure, but it sux. The only way it worked out well is because there are more honest people than frauds.

someone won't do anything. paypal is useful only when you've spent over $300 i think...not sure on the number. ebay won't help you, either. i'm sorry, but you've lost your $65.

call up paypal- my friend did that b/c he never got an item, and they refunded his account, no problem... the only issue remains however-that the seller deleted his account-but still-call them and see what to do...

call your credit card company. so they can do a charge back. They will give you a temp refund until they investigate it. They will deal with paypal (if you use it to pay for the product). Paypal will either eat the amount or they can go after the seller, usally they go after the seller. either way you get your money back. You gotta do it within 30 days of the transaction though or you won't get shit. Yes it did happen to me, and yes I am getting my money back.

    SITUATION UPDATE:

Thanks for all the advice you guys gave me. I filed a complaint with Paypal last week and tomorrow I was planning to call Ebay to file another complaint, when low and behold... a package shows up today with my triple gauge pillar! lol The seller really left me no choice but to file a complaint, because I didn't want to be assed out if that one month deadline passed.

Obviously the seller needs to work on his customer service policies, but I have to admit, the pillar looks damn good! It also seemed to fit perfectly when I tested it in the car just now, so I'm happy w/ the transaction on the whole.

Now I just need to buy some gauges...
