how's he gonna drive... if he doesn't know how fast he's going...

do this... take off the faces... and see if u can move the needle by hand... put it to like 20 or something and let go... it sould go back automatically... if it doesn't check to see if its jammed....

ok-there's a bunch of wires behind the hole cluster right? and then there's like "harnesses" the PLUG into the "board" -one of those MAY be loose-thats what im thinking-just forcefully PUSH each harness or plug securely back into position...like a loose plug in an outlet... its your best shot-for now at least-then you may have to bring it to a shop..

When my speedometer guage stopped working, the odometer stopped working as well. I drove for six months like that with no problems. Law-wise, even though absolute speed limits are enforced, relative speed limits are just as important. I really doubt you'll get a ticket unless you blatantly ignore how fast the rest of the traffic is going. I can't tell you how to fix it, mine was related to an electrical short that fixed itself, but please....calm down! Worse things could have happened to your vehicle.

Oh my gosh....just suck it up and drive. You will now if you are speeding or not. Go with the flow of traffic.
If youre worried that much about it, call a tow truck then.

ALSO....make sure that the two small screws that hold down the guage is not stopping the needle from going any farther than 20mph. Make sure you dont have the washers in there...otherwise the needle will hit that screw and not go any farther.

my speed sensor died and the gauge stopped working. if your rpm gauge is also dead then you may need to replace that. its right by the crankshaft pulley, the rpm sensor is. the speed sensor is on the transmission somewhere. if that does not fix it your gauge cluster could have died somehow? speed sensor is about 250 but if the dealer is awsome they'll give you a discount.
