this probably applies to the more visually modded of the group...but how many of you guys have had your car mistook for another one? and what car?

for me
so far....

1. civic ( i guess people associate any import with civics)
2. mitsubishi( i have no idea, why but some mid 30-s man told me it was a mitsu)
3. skyline ( sum 12-13 year old kid said it from his moms suv while i was parked at wal-mart)
4.nothing, alot of people dont even know what the hell it is

Only one person said anything to me. They didn't know what it was...
I've just got some 16" wheels and chrome, pretty much stock.

camry and civic are all that come to mind right now... a few people also thought i had a v6 for some reason too.

Ditto. lol. They also said your car is slow. ONLY a Honda can be modded to be fast.

Just sounds to me like these are people who don't know jack about cars.

Except for the heavily modded ones being mistaken for other cars... But for someone to look at a totally or almost totally stock Corolla and say, oh look, a Lancer/Civic/whatever is just stupid.

tons of people used to think my ae92 was a prelude.... which never surprised me.... but i always had that group of people who asked what kind of car it was (it had been debadged... this was before the silvia front end beginning... and the only place it said toyota on it other than under the hood and etched on the glass was on the steering wheel)

that all being said, i don't know what people say about my mr2, but i get tons of looks when i'm in it (and it doesn't even look all that appealing right now)

my car has never been mistakin since it is stock...but no one knows what it is since it dosn't say corolla on the back anymore

My Stock 04 S has been mistaken for a Jetta at a McDonald's Drive-through. LOL I was flattered, and was like um no its a Corolla. The response was, "oh. That's nice."

lets see, never been mistaken for any thing from the general public but one of the salesmen at my old lexus dealership, when I was parked out front one day kepet telling people that my car was a new prototype lexus and then almost sold it. I was angry... rarrrr

Someone mistaken my 01 rolla was a Tercel, that pissed me off.
