It can be done with relays. You still want to keep you key but you may want to relocate it. We did this with our shops mustang. We located a coke key elsewhere and put a push button on the dash.

The ignition switch in my '65 Dart went bad, you could turn the key on ACC or ON, but if you turned it past ON to Start, it wouldn't crank. So, I just took the lead that went to my windshield washer pump and put it on the solenoid. Turn the key to ON, then press the windshield wiper knob. Push-button start on a budget!

i actually just got done taking two s2000 to the gas stations. honestly i think the push button is a neat feature but it is pointless. by the time you put the key in turn it to on push in the clutch, and then push the button, you could have already started the car.

That's why I like my remote starter :D Someone should make something that you can keep on your key ring (kinda like those chevron speedpass things) that recognize when you get in the car and allow the push button to be activated by only pressing it and having to use a key as well :D ahhhhhhh...all these ideas and no technical know how   :D

but even with remote start you still have to turn the key to on just to get the car in gear.
