transformer might be going bad. like light bulbs, when they start to go and off, the transofrmer on the flourecent light is usually the problem. So you might want to look into the transformer as the source of the problem. You might be looking at buying another one.

the transformers suck on glow gauges. I'm on my second transformer and it didn't last long so I took the gauges out completely. I'm not wasting any more money on crap that only works a couple of months.

That'll happen. Like others have said, best bet is just to get new set or give up. Only problem I see is the risk of damaging your needles when you take the faces on and off too many times. Maybe the saying should be, better stock than sorry?

well since the glow guages have the transformers separate from the guages itself, couldn't you just cut the wires and attach the new ones?

the transformer is a little black box attached to the wiring which is attatched to the guage. I have one and if you are planning on getting one. go to procarparts.com. I've had the guages for a year now and they work fine. the needles will still glow since the guage actually sits on top of the old guage. make sure to get the reverse glow guages, not the one that makes the whole guage face glow. the transformers they use for those suck and they don't last long. the ones that only lights up the numbers seems to have a better transformer.

nope unfortunately, but all you need is tap the wires with your current headlight switch and it should work good. I'll have some pic up of the guage light up so you can see. stay tuned.

    i have a '96 rolla.
and those neons of yours are pimp!
how do you hook up the front neon to you grill? just zippy tied it?
and is that the stock lights on your guages? or they come with the gauges?
cuz im thinkin of getting some of those reverse indiglo gauges and put some yellow LED or bulb behind it. and also paint my needles.

the guages I got from www.procarparts.com If I'm not mistaken, they should have for your year car aswell. The neons, I have to add an extra one. I just bought a streetglow 15" tube, put some silicon sealant around the edges of the tube to prevent water from getting in it, then screw it in. The blue series are not that bright so I have to improvise a little bit. If you're thinking of painting your guage needles, consider putting a led on it instead to give it a better glow. Ebay sells them right now. the needles on mine are stock.

Yeah, no instructions for the indi-glos. I posted a howto here a while back, but everyone posted a bunch of BS in the forum and it got lost. One guy posted "I did it the right way and it was faster" but never told anyone "the right way". Kinda funny, people who tear others down, but have no real input themselves.

I just posted a not-so positive feedback for procarparts.com. They are a huge company that will never respond to any e-mail or send anything but automated replies. I got my product, and it was cheap, but like I said, no communication except for auto-replies. Better hope all your addresses and etc are correct.

If you want the how-to, let me know, or PM me, I can e-mail it something. Also, check out Vamps DIY, it's pretty good, with pics too!
