    2005 F1 season

Anyone here follows F1? If yes who's ur favorite team/driver, what do you think of the new regulations etc..... POST UP F1 FANS!!!

Well since I'm from Colombia I have to support Juan Pablo Montoya (used to be with Williams BMW but now drives with MB Mclaren) he's done a pretty good job so far in the F1 and well not bad 1st race in Melbourne but I think he could've done better though... not a bad beginning of a season though...

The toyota duo of ralf and jarno :W00t , the rule changes seem to me to not have really changed much, the cars are still just as fast. F1 is the best racing on this planet. :p

I think the engine use and the tire changes regulations were changed a little bit but the board of directors of the FIA are tryin to change it to how it was.... I dk most of the ppl think the new regulations are retarted so I dk... Renault seems to be a strong competitor this year too...This is Toyotas second season and they haven't done a bad job so far I think it's got plenty of potential once it really gets going

me i'm Toyota and Ferrari... i think toyota will hav potential but not w/ Jarno cuz he seems to loose interest after a few laps... Ralf i think he hav the talent but just not use to the car yet... plus toyota better show some results cuz the upper management of toyota is not happy of how much $$ they spend but no good result...

-Ferrari the F2004n is pretty sweet still but there new car F2005 is going to be even better i can tell hahahahha...

-but most potential team this yr would be Renault, MB, and Red bull...

-rule change for next yr is suppose to be the engine 2.5L V-8 instead of 3L V-10

I think toyota and Renault will have a break out year this year. Of course the overall favorite is still going to be ferrari. I wonder if Mclaren got there engine problems all worked out this year? Last year they seem to be having a lot of problems.

I'm a Michael Schumacher fan. Comes from being half German. That also means that I'm a Ferrari fan as well, but I'm really a fan of the guy behind the wheel

Who was up late watching the Malaysian Grand Prix? There were two Hondas that bowed out after the first lap with engine problems, apparently they were trying to squeeze power first and worry about durability second.

The new rules are stupid. One set of tires for the entire race? There was a guy who stopped five laps or so short of the finish because his tires were so worn it wasn't safe for him, and even if he did finish he wouldn't have the required 4 grooves on each tire, and someone would've challenged and gotten him disqualified.

IMO, when your going around a turn at 190+ MPH, less than a foot away from your competitor, with more than 700 HP on tap, you're not gonna be very safe. It's an accepted risk these drivers take, and they do all in their power to keep it as safe as possible. Give them slicks and let 'em run.

Again, IMO, Ferrari are being kind of stupid with their engine selections. What they've basically done with all but one of their drivers is use last year's engine modified to conform to this year's engine rules, despite the fact that they have a brand new engine (the F2005) made specifically for this year and ready for it. It's no surprise to me that Ferrari aren't exhibiting their typical dominance, and it's also no surprise that the guy with the F2005 isn't doing so bad. Bottom line: the F2004M was made for 2004, the F2005 was made for 2005.

Supposedly Schumi and co. will get the new engines for Bahrain.

Renault and Toyota are shaping up to be the teams to beat this year. Toyota is still quite a surprise, so we'll see how they're doing later in the year, but Renault almost looks a little intimidating. I think unless Ferrari makes a real turnaround, a Renault driver is going to walk away with it.

I like watching F1 racing, but there isnt much RACING go on. Yeah, every once in a while there is a good pass, or some good action going on. But the field gets spread out so much, because certain drivers dominate the season.
And, they wreck out on the first lap. I cant believe how often these drivers wreck on the 1st lap. Coming from someone that has raced asphalt sprint tracks for over 15 years, you cant win the race on the first lap!!!

I think the new rules will benefit the sport....may bring the field closer together.

oh man Malaisya was one of the best races ever because Ferrari sucked for ONCE in like 5-6 seasons lol and the race was really hard for everyone considerin the track temperature was at 146 degrees!!!! it was insane, both Honda engines blew da fook out within seconds of each other during the second lap and well as for Toyota they kicked ass and for Mercedes I think Montoya had a good race woot woot for my Colombian homie!!! hehehe the rules are affecting but in a good way..... Michelin made such an advancement with their tires man since now they're only allowed to use ONE set of tires for the whole Grand Prix Weekend and only one motor for two races... I think those rules are way good man it puts to test the team strategics and the reliability of the motors and tire providers.

Toyota's reliability will show an advantage in this this year's GP... honda engines were always known for there crappy reliablity so i wouldn't doubt that honda will suck bad this yr... renualt kick ass w/ there low end torquey engine... i'm a fan of Toyota F1 and Ferrari F1... so either one of the teams win i'll be happy... i hav to see the next race to see if Toyota really did there job this yr... cuz i remember the same race in malay when toyota first started they took 2nd in qualifying yet they suck badly (touch wood) in the end of the season

Hopefully they'll do good but again for most teams is only the beginning man who knows it might get even better than what it is right now later on in the season
